giants poised for their annual runner up spot in the intl free agent class; lol. mediocrity purgatory is where they will remain for the foreseeable future.
It's time to start winning right?
Playoffs and Championship droughts...
SF 49ers - 5 years no playoffs, 24 years no championship
LA Lakers - 6 years no playoffs, 9 years no championship
LA Kings - 1 year no playoffs, 5 years no championship
SF Giants - 2 years no playoffs, 5 years no championship
For the immediate future, yes. But with four big contracts coming off the books and several notable prospects coming along, that gives off some optimism.
Certainly don't think we should spend a lot of money on players that won't be around anyway when we are ready to compete again. War chest that money that's off the books next year but continue to build the farm. Those guys will be the body of this club, then, we can think about spending a little on adding experience that will help the kids. We know about the Dodgers and what the Pads have done so patience will be important in not doing things to get a head of ourselves. More tough seasons in front of us but after all, it is a slow rebuild.
