The overall point here is that all these celebs out there are hypocritical for moving their work to cities (or countries) that have easier union rules. CelebsÖÖstudios whatever. If it is the studios that do it why do the celebs go along with it is agains their strong union support policies???

    They're phonies.
Well you of all people should understand theyíre a business like any other. They have to show profit and growth YoY. If you can cut production costs by changing filming locations, of course they would do it.

Cities are also just trying to capitalize off it. But for NY itís more about logistics. They can only allow so much production without throwing the city into chaos. Itís like Disneyland constantly increasing admission prices to control crowd flow.

Sigh. I of all people do understand they are a business like any other. And that they have to show profit and growth YoY (Year over Year for some of you). And I have no problem with that.

I just think they are hypocritical for expounding on all the support for those Great American Unions that have always stood firmly for the American workerÖand then trying to avoid those Great American Unions hat have always stood firmly for the American worker.

    Like I saidÖÖhypocrisy.

If, after reading my posts on this topic, you still think that my point ever was to ďgetĒ Trump, then you are...well, Iíll just say wrong.

Anything thats legal is ok with you? (not that this isn't illegal, all signs point to it being so)

It's not bothersome because it's selfish, manipulative, and shows his utter incompetence?

The legality is not about Trump. If his returns are legal, thatís on those who make and allow for an unjust tax code.

However, even if just on a symbolic level for Americaís leader to have weaseled his way out of supporting his own country financially ó just because he could ó leads me to question his patriotism.

No, I donít question it. I reject it.

Let's look at that first lineÖÖÖ

Anything thats legal is ok with you?
WellÖyeah. If it is legal, there isn't much we can do about it.

Now let's look at that second lineÖÖ

It's not bothersome because it's selfish, manipulative, and shows his utter incompetence?
Selfish and manipulative people are very bothersome and we encounter them virtually day. Nothing you can do about it. (By the wayÖwho is more selfish and manipulative than Pelosi???) And as for utter incompetenceÖÖif the guy is taking advantage of tax loopholes and legally getting away with it, that seems like someone on his team is pretty competent.

Some of you are very naive as to the nature of these things.

George Steinbrenner, one of the richest and most powerful owners in baseball once had his shipbuilding business in Tampa declare bankruptcy even he had more $$$ than God (capital "G") in the value of the Yankees and other interests.

This stuff happens all the time.

And I also said I am all in favor of changing the tax code to eliminate this stuff.

    Crovash rejects it.

Well if that doesn't stir Congress to make changes, I just don't know what will.

I can tell there's basically no accountants in here.

I will not remotely say there's nothing fishy, even criminal going on. It's entirely possible there is.

HOWEVER, those of you saying things like how could he not pay more in taxes or how could he operate at a loss, etc etc.....you obviously don't understand how corporate taxes work.

Firstly, there's the person and there's the business....this is talking about Donald Trump's PERSONAL taxes, NOT his company's taxes. It is ENTIRELY possible, even legally, for him to show virtually NO income personally while living a lavish lifestyle via revenues from his company.

That said, this is exactly the kind of thing that causes people to scream about how corporations don't pay enough in taxes. I GUARANTEE there are HUNDREDS of situations like this......not like Donnie is necessarily doing anything new. When he says fake news this time? It's not above the realm of possibility he's right....legally.

Let me help you: we don't know if anything was illegal or not. That's not going to be in the tax filing.

Even if what he did was somehow legal, doesn't make him any less of a fraud or a scumbag.
