At least with this deal he can be buried in GR if he stinks and/or a younger player earns a spot.

I didn't think about that, but that could also be an option. Abby seems likely given he has a ways to go yet. Nielsen will be an expiring contract in 2021 going into 2022 so one more year of him and then ship him out for anyone who needs to meet the salary floor.
