This core should have been tanked after 2018. This club has gone backwards every year since the World Series, it's a disgrace.

Don't worry, They will just spend the entire off season doing nothing and praying that new coaches revitalize this overrated core.

Been out of the loop for a few weeks, where is Bryant? Is he hurt again?

    9/21-9/24 - Cubs (31-22) at Pirates (15-38) IGT - Just. ****ing. Win.

    Financial news from Jesse Rogers:

    - Cubs have laid off 25% of the Business Department due to COVID pandemic

    - Cubs expected to lose $125-130 mil in revenue this year due to COVID

    - Cubs expect only 50% allowed capacity for Opening Day 2021, with STH getting priority for tickets

Funny. Cubs seem very eager to leak loss numbers. Much less so about how much they make in profit...

Of course. They’ll talk about these losses for years. Without seeing books we don’t even know if they are true, but you can bet that whatever the actual losses are they will frame them publicly to sound as bad as possible.

There’s also no way to know what kind of attendance they’ll have on opening day next year at this point. They can plan for 50%, but it might be 100% and it might be 0%.

Lose 3 out of 4 in Pirates series, definitely ready for the playoffs.

Before this season, where half the league now makes the playoffs, our Cubs have not seen a playoff series since 2017. Getting beat in two play in games is hardly something to celebrate. Especially after these guys won a WS.

Is it possible that they are in fact, not underachieving? Maybe this is who they are. Maybe they peaked 4 years ago, and this is who they are. Maybe they all had great seasons 4 years ago, and are now just a bunch of JAG's.

I'm ready for a complete house cleaning. If they can come back next season with a total house cleaning and be a very good team, that's great too!

People will probably overrate Mills for the next 8 months just because he had a no-hitter. But he still sucks.

The BN guy is saying that Marquez can still do the instructional thing even though he is on the 40 player pool . If he is added to the roster then he can’t do that.

Screw the instructional league! This is his 5th year in the system. He throws 103 for strikes! Get him up here.

Being his 5th year is meaningless. Thats the worst reason. He was 16 when he was signed. His years 16-18 mean very little.

Yes he should be on the roster. Hes better than most of the guys. Especially as a reliever. But the "fifth year in the system" is meaningless for a 21 year old. Itd be one thing if he were 27. Hes not 27.
