man hearing that lock and bridgewater are going to split qb reps 50-50 really pisses me off. it really means is that they don't actually trust lock and that they are just ok with having bridgewater be the quarterback. this still just sounds like the moves you make when you have a 3rd year coach who has had two very subpar seasons trying to save his job over caring about the future of the franchise. also, qb competitions are dumb if they aren't figured out quickly

lets say the packers break and trade rodgers what would you guys be willing to give up?

lets start with the good. he was arguably the best QB in the league last year which is honestly all the good I need to say. he won the MVP. even his worst years he throws very few picks.

now lets start with the bad. he is 37 and half. he will be 38 before the season ends. has had a few injury issues creep up in the past few years. his stats quite frankly aren't that impressive in 2018 and 2019. how much of that was just lingering knee issues. will he be as happy here as he thinks he might be?

We don't have a single MNF next year. Have we fallen that much?

Sad, but true. However, I am looking forward at the coming season very optimistically!

So am I but damn! Not having a single MNF game when there are 32 teams in the NFL and 34 play MNF...that's pretty ****ing bad.

Sad but i only believe that to be temporary. Our GM isnt married to Luck like Elway was. He knows he has to win and win now.

I know espn is trash, but they have us at 26 https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...enefited-draft

nfl.com has us at the same spot https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-power-r...ter-2021-draft

you don't put bottom 7 teams in prime time games. as a homer I think we are higher then 7th, but with a likely bottom 5 qb room we can't be much higher unless we pull off a 5% chance trade that Aaron Rodgers actually gets traded, he wants to be here, and the packers like our trade package.

just a side note, but I still get pissed off at passing over fields. it has nothing to do with fields btw because I know nothing about him or his talent, but its just a completing the cycle of trading for well below average qb's and expecting them to somehow be better here. like whats the plan to ever improve that position? good qb's very rarely get traded and very rarely leave in free agency, but thats literally their only plan for ever getting one.

it hasn't been announced yet, but most beat writers have Teddy being our new quarterback. so glad we passed on two qb's to get captain checkdown as our new qb. what a likely waste of a year.

Sorry about that, but I am excited for Teddy to be the QB. It isn't forever, but he should be very reliable (like Alex Smith was for Kansas City) and I expect to win at least 11 games this year.
I am excited for the season!!

I heard a theory a couple days prior to the decision and it made sense to me, it went a little like this. Teddy is gonna be named the starter and heres why: Steady Teddy is a guy who you know exactly what you're going to get, where Drew is a guy who has a higher ceiling but a much lower floor. This coaching staff is coaching for their jobs this year, anything less that a wildcard berth or the bubble and Fangio is looking for a new job, so put the known commodity in to start the year and let your defense do their thing, and let your offensive weapons play with the more consistent guy.

Also if it backfires and the season starts 1-3, 2-4, etc. and you have to make a change at QB, pulling Teddy for Lock has a much different effect than pulling Lock for Teddy. If the team struggles out of the gate and Drew gets his shot, its a shot to the entire team because hes the gun-slinger type of guy and it brings a renewed life to the season. Whereas the opposite, if you start Drew and have to pull him for Teddy, it is more of a lost season feeling.

I'm behind the decision to go with Teddy

I obviously haven't watched any practices so if Teddy won the job so be it. This is assuming of course that it isn't that Teddy will be the "safe" Qb and that he was simply the better qb. However, I just makes me sad cause this team is once again on the qb carousal from hell and we aren't any closer to being competitive then we were at this point last year. we know what Teddy is, and thats a well below average QB. we are going to spending another offseason dreaming of a better quarterback while not having the assets to get anything like that done since we probably end up at like the 10th to 14th pick again. Although if this rams game meant anything we would be picking #1 cause holy crap we have looked terrible.

Sup boys, it's been a ****in minute. Forgot about this place for awhile..to my surprise there are still some of the oldies in here. Not sure how much this can be salvaged but whatever.

For starters, I had to completely ignore the ****in QB drama. I didn't bother reading a single QB article about either for/against either cause the toxicity revolving around these two were unbearable. Lock stans, Lock haters, Teddy B and his captain checkdowns....man I just couldn't do it.

With that being said, I'm cool with Teddy B starting off. How many times have we said over the years "if we only had an AVERAGE offense, we'd be a good/quality/competitive team?" But we've always had a bottom tier offense and our defense simply couldn't cover it all 2015 style. Teddy gives us a solid shot of AT LEAST obtaining that status and we should win plenty of games.

I saw a stat that Teddy B faced the most difficult pass defenses last year...and now this year he'll face the easiest. This has to favor him the most. Tack along the Teddy with the Saints looked quite different than the Teddy from Carolina...and we may just be underselling him a bit.

Folks, we are stacked on offense with talent. Two deep at all skill positions (WR, TE, RB)...let Teddy give the ball to his weapons and watch them work. And I KNOW watching Teddy show his pocket presence MUST of been a sight to see because we sure as hell didn't see that over the years.

Overall, I say nykol has got the right idea. If Teddy fails from the gate, we have a chance to get that "shot in the arm" in Lock with some potential exciting football to keep folks watching. If Lock failed from the gate...then folks would have to embrace in the "boring" Teddy football.

The defense has an incredible chance, health permitting (PLEASE), to be a dominant group. That DB group is something man...if Von/Chubb are good they alone will wreck havoc but I'm extremely excited in the tag team of Shelby and Dre'mont...and super hopeful with Agim's emergence. I worry about the LB core....but that group should be a lot of fun. That cooper kid is quite the story eh? Looks like a damn keeper too. Shot in the arm type edge rusher.

The special teams is concerning. Not because of Martin or McManus....but because for some ****in reason..Tom McMahon is still our coordinator. Don't trust him.

    Football is back boys.
