Colorado Rockies @ San Francisco Giants - September 21-24

    .........................

COLORADO ROCKIES (23-29) @ SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS (26-26)

    ORACLE PARK

    Game 1: Monday, September 21st @ 6:45 PM

    VS.
    German Marquez..........Johnny Cueto

    Scouting Report:
Rockies: After going 0-3 in his first three career starts at San Francisco, Márquez has had a couple good ones in 2019 -- a one-hit shutout on April 14, and five decent innings (7 H, 3 R, 2 ER) in a 6-3 victory on June 26.

Giants: Cueto was scheduled to start Sunday vs. the A's, but the Giants pushed his start back to give him more time to recover from hip tightness. He is 9-3 with a 2.71 ERA in 17 career starts vs. the Rockies.

    Game 2: Tuesday, September 22nd @ 6:45 PM

    VS.
    Kyle Freeland..........TBD

    Scouting Report:
Rockies: This season has been a true turnaround for Freeland, who has gone from a 6.73 ERA last year to 3.75 in 2020. One area of improvement has been walks -- down from 3.4 per nine innings last year to a career-low 2.6.

    Giants: TBD

    Game 3: Wednesday, September 23rd @ 6:45 PM

    VS.
    Ryan Castellani..........TBD

    Scouting Report:
Rockies: What Castellani has learned while facing veteran lineups in his last three starts -- the Dodgers twice and the Angels once -- is he has to challenge in the strike zone. He walked 13 in 14 1/3 innings in those contests.

    Giants: TBD

    Game 4: Thursday, September 24th @ 12:45 PM

    VS.
    Chi Chi Gonzalez..........TBD

    Scouting Report:
Rockies: González returned to the rotation Friday night against the Dodgers and pitched solidly for five innings, only to have a Chris Taylor triple and homer ruin his numbers. He'll be allowed to go deeper than the 79 pitches he threw Friday, provided he is effective.

    Giants: TBD

Gotta love bringing in a pitcher with a 7+ ERA in a one run game with the playoffs on the line.

Just down one though. This lineup can bounce back.

Tbf I don't trust much of anyone in this bullpen outside of Watson.

Ball sure carrying differently in this park in 2020. Both this HR and Longo's last night I thought had no chance of going out initially.

True. I can't remember seeing a Giants bullpen this trashy.

If the third baseman was playing normal depth I think he would've been it out. But ****. Huge loss.

Luckily none of our main competition for the WC spots are especially good. Be nice to win out vs. SD but I don't see us doing better than a split.

Cards did us a solid today. Hopefully the Rays and Twins can help us out as well. But more importantly, hopefully the Giants can help themselves.
