We've talked recently about having a deep backfield and inevitable an injury occurs. We have talented players but KJ, Scarbrough have injury issues and Swift struggled with them at camp as well. Having a veteran, who played under Bevell in Minnesota, to fill in is a good thing. A power back to step in if/when Bo gets hurt or needs a breather. He's at best RB#3 on the team and should be used that way.

Edit: Also having AP here who knows Bevell's scheme can help Swift become acclimated to the offense.

We have several young backs and have Peterson will help mentor them. He maybe past his prime but he was having a really good camp.

Interesting side note is that he's only 1,054 yards away from passing Barry on the all-time list. I highly doubt he passes him this year but it'll be interesting to see what the organization and fans say if he gets closer haha.
