Ibaka really caught me off guard. Baynes could be a good get.

ugh I wanted Ibaka more than Fred. He's gonna be really hard to replace. Mobile, defended, rim protected, rebounded, could shoot the 3 and one of the best at setting the screen in the pick and roll. He did everything you need a big man to do in today's NBA. This really stings.

“It’s about winning,” Stoudemire said. “You win, you’re going to get on national TV. Simple. In Phoenix, we won — Western Conference finals three, four years, playoffs every year. We won. If you don’t win, nobody really wants to see you.”

    3. maybe we trade him to a contender, he wins a ring and then signs back in the free agency to retire a raptor but on a friendly deal.
    4. FVV becomes the starting pg, Flynn gets groomed to be the back up.
    5. We use the assets we get in the Lowry trade to try and draft more gems, or package them in a trade to improve in a needed area.

Alot of reasons I can think of but it boils down to what Lowry wants. does he want to chase another ring, does he want another pay day, does he simply want to come back on a cheap deal and retire a raptor... I think we make that decision based on those answers, which only Lowry and maybe Masai would know.
I have been thinking this too.

Gotta re-sign Gasol then I guess. At least you know that contract would be 1 year. 19mil over 2 years though wtf?

At least boucher is better suited to fill in that big-off-the-bench role that Ibaka was in.

Re-sign Gasol and it’s fine. Advanced stats didn’t love Ibaka like we did as a fan base. Try Giles and re-sign Boucher and we’re fine. OG will be the 5 in the 4th quarter anyways.

I would definitely like to see Gasol back. The Raptors look very thin at center now.

Giles is another good option. Not even a bad option to look at Whiteside.

Whiteside is such a bad fit but man it’s tempting.

Thon Maker isn’t a terrible project idea for the bench.

Yeah just as a one year experiment. The fit isn't ideal, that's for sure.

Raptors essentially have no bigs they can sign because Tristan Thompson is off the market and so is Millsap...I mean only way Raptors can realistically get a big is via trade and that is about it...like I said by re signing Van Vleet they basically screwed themselves at the center position...Raptors have a huge hole at the 5 spot

I kind of expected this season to be a step back year. This solidifies that.

Time to shift focus to building around FVV, Anunoby, Siakam.

To whomever mentioned that they could see Lowry being dealt at the deadline... I agree. If that happens, it will be gut wrenching.
