What's more is that the media narrative is also helping the aura around the Raptors right now as well. Considering we were picked as missing the playoffs and we improved on our overall record last year, as well as the fight our team showed in the playoffs, it's highlighted that the team was much more than just Kawhi. Kawhi and the Clippers going out the way they did only brings more focus to that storyline. Right now, Toronto looks like the Clippers did last offseason before landing PG and Kawhi.
Bingo! Your last sentence sums it up. We need a superstar period..

In my opinion, Masai/Webster should consider the avenue of signing and trading Van Vleet.

Having two diminutive guards is not sustainable especially having one of the two as your shooting guard.

They have to develop Matt Thomas and TD2, with Fred being way in front of them. However they may again take the back seat if Masai acquire a much taller lead Shooting Guard like a Jrue Holliday.

It is more prudent to even push hard to re-sign Serge and possibly get Baynes from the Suns.

    Lowry
    Jrue
    OG
    Pascal
    Serge

    Bench:
Powell (could be the trade kicker)
    Matt
    TD
    Baynes

they can be competitive in preparation for 2021 free agency.

Jrue I think is getting paid 26M per season for 2020-21 and has a player option in 21-22.

Signing Fred to around his AAV and packaging him with Norm’s 10 million per may get you a taller 2 way guard in Jrue.

That would give Masai some flexibility in 2021 as well.

He can convince Serge to sign a bigger 1 year contract in line with Lowry’s this coming season.

Then use the mid level exception to sign a Baynes or Olynyk.

Everything in preparation to hook the bigger fish.

But Giannis could decide not to sign with y'all and then what? 2021 even if you guys miss out on Giannis...free agency board you have Kawhi, Paul George, LeBron, Bradley Beal, Brandon Ingram, etc

All politics.. they had to. we finished second in the conference.again just my own opinion noodles we are built as a team and have talent and heart no doubt. But come playoffs we are in trouble if we don’t land another super star like kawai. Looking forward to 2021 personally.

You basically answered your question there my friend. I say pass to Ingram though. But include Oladipo and Gobert there too to that humongous aquarium for Masai and Webster to take a peek.

Or the Raptors could draft Cassius Stanley, Jay Scrubb, Tre Jones or RJ Hampton if he slips that far

But who is on the block right now that the Raptors could use:

    Kevin Love
    Hassan Whiteside
    DeMar DeRozan
    Andre Drummond
    LaMarcus Aldridge
    Paul Millsap
    Chris Paul
    Brandon Ingram
    Anthony Davis
    Montrezl Harrell
    Jrue Holiday (2021)
    Bradley Beal (2021)
    Blake Griffin (2021)
    Rudy Gobert (2021)
    Kawhi Leonard (2021)
    Paul George (2021)
    LeBron James (2021)
    Giannis Antetokounmpo (2021)
    Victor Oladipo (2021)

We don't need most of the players on this list rofl.

We don't need Love, Whiteside, DD, Drummond, Aldridge, Millsap, Paul, Harrell, Griffin, Gobert.

Jrue Holiday and BI would be nice. Doubt we can get them.
Kawhi, PG, Lebron and Davis aren't going to come here.

Beal and Dipo seem like realistic targets.
