Since no one has mentioned it yet, Elliot Signed a 1 year 1.5M deal. So that's done. We have close to 4.75M left with Myers, Patrick, and maybe bringing up Frost and Friedman for 13 Fwds, 7D, 2G on the roster as is.

If we can trade Ghost and JVR (probably retaining 2M/yr) we gain 9.5M and have to fill one forward spot and one D spot.

kings are looking for a top 4 lhd...perfect time to trade ghost there. They said they are willing to trade a 2nd round pick and a prospect...id go for a 3rd round pick and a better prospect. They have a ton of propsects

What do you think one way contract means?

Just because he's on a one way deal doesn't mean he will be up with the big club. That said, I think he will be a number 6/7.

Do you have a source? Just wanting to read this.

If this is the case, the flyers would be idiots not to jump all over it.

that they see/value him as being with the club. I don't see why they give him that contract to remain in the minors. He takes brauns spot and will fight with hagg all year for that 6th spot (unless ghost gets traded) which then means he might be playing with hagg on the 3rd pair.

That article doesn't say anything about paying a 2nd for Ghost. It just says they have 2 or 3 2nd rounders to use in a trade.

I did, however, read an article stating that Ghost would be an "enticing piece" in acquiring Laine for Winnipeg. Seems some teams still value Ghost and think they can bring out the near Norris potential he has. I Hakstol damaged his confidence to the point where it is nearly beyond repair, but hopefully he can go somewhere out west and tear it up while we get a good return. If we can use him to bring in Johnny G or Laine, and he plays at his old level, it seems like a win/win.

    niskanen retires
braun signed for 2 YEARS WTF.

ghost needs to regain for now because he is in the top 4 no matter what now:

    provorov-ghost
    sanheim-myers
    hagg-braun
    freidman

1.8m hit for Braun is fine, he is just fine for a bottom pairing RHD that doesn’t adversely affect the cap.

Nisky retiring helps our cap situation greatly but hurts our lineup tremendously. Braun had to be resigned or we’d only have one RHD on the roster with NHL experience (Myers) ...

Need to hold on to Ghost now and let him play next year. Maybe something like.

    Provy Sanheim
    Myers Ghost
    Hagg Braun
    Friedman

Only way you trade Ghost now is if the organization feels York or Zamula are ready to take the leap to the NHL.
