How in the world are they justifying a Colliton extension? The only reason I see is Bowman doubling down on his guy. This is it for Bowman. If JC is extended and they are disappointing again, they're both gone.

Was McDonaugh the voice of sanity? I hate the direction of this franchise and front office right now.

I hope they realize how desperately they need not only Crawford back, but a highly competent backup. I don't think I've seen any year worse in terms of constant pressure and high quality chances than this year.

Also Cubby, don't understand the ineptitude lately. I think Scotty Bowman is wielding a lot more power than we realize and been saying this for at least a year. Scotty definitely not involved in the day to day, but I think his voice with upper levels is keeping Stan in the clear. It's ridiculous. The game passed Scotty by at this point and Stan is a bumbling fool.

Stan has drafted very little depth since he stepped in as GM. Many of his drafts have produced nothing. We're seeing the effects of that now.

The Phillip Danault trade was just pitiful. Jokiharju is a steady defenseman that we traded for seemingly no reason.

Stan sucks.

Hawks, Crawford remain apart in talks for new contract via Ben Pope of Chicago Sun Times.

Hawks offering Crow between $3.5-4 mil, and Crow is reportedly asking between $4.5-5.5 mil.

And as expected, Lehner resigned with Vegas. 5 yrs/$25 mil

Rumblings of Murray asking for $6.5 mil for 6 years.

The Pittsburgh Penguins and Chicago Blackhawks had trade talks surrounding goaltender Matt Murray.
The negotiations went far enough that the Penguins gave the Blackhawks permission to talk to Murray about an extension. According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, those extension talks didn't work out. It's unclear if the Blackhawks will continue pursuing Murray though. The 26-year-old restricted free agent had a 20-11-5 record with a 2.87 goals-against-average and a .899 save percentage last season.

I would rather bring back Scott Darling on a minimum deal than pay Matt Murray 4-6.5 mil a year for 5-6 years. Gross. This front office sucks.
