    Shame.
I hope the jerking around of Lugo doesnít have an adverse effect.

My guess itíll take 3-4 starts to get him to a quality start
Season will likely be over by then, but the Wilpons (after they weasel out of selling the team) will need a cheap starter to replace Stroman

I guarantee you Rojas had absolutely nothing to do with keeping Lugo out of last night's game. It was all about Brody.

I hate this brand of baseball. Hate it.

Lugo to The Rotation Diaz to be the Closer

This needed to be done and Iím glad Matz is the one who is losing his rotation spot. Maybe Matz can find some success in the pen. Heís throwing harder this season, maybe heíll be consistent mid-upper 90s.

So this what the rotation looks like now:

    deGrom
    Lugo
    Porcello
    Gsellman
    Peterson

Looks A LOT better with Lugo in there. I suspect Wacha will replace Gsellman when/if heís healthy. The bullpen will be fine. Diaz looks extremely nasty and will reclaim his throne as this teamís closer. I trust Wilson the most as far as being a setup guy goes. Betances and Familia are in a similar boat for me, except the latter still has great stuff. Shreve and Hughes have been providing great multi-inning relief in the middle innings. I would like to see Drew Smith have a larger role in the pen.

Dude Matz sucks. He is what he is.

His only hope is being a pen arm at this point. He's a terrible starter.

    Don't worry. He's got this.

I mean they having had him start in years.

He has wanted to start and now he gets what he wants.

I am sure they talked about it.

The decision had to be made to get a legitimate starter and I rather they move Lugo than deal prospects for one.

I still wonít give up totally on him, but his days as a starter for the Mets should be done.

An uptick in velocity and a focusing on 2 pitches as opposed to 4 could make all the difference in him having success.

Yeah. Itís also a good thing considering there was 0 chance that Lugo would re-sign with this team unless he was given an opportunity to start. Iíve always thought that him and Gsellman would be effective ML starters but I worry about stretching these guys out and that there isnít enough time to do so in the shortened season.

He can easily throw 50 pitches today by next start he could be up to 75. Is not like he has been not throwing at all.

Seth Lugo will be the Mets' ninth starting pitcher in 27 games.

The Mets used nine starters TOTAL all last season. This is the first time in franchise history the Mets have had nine different starters over the first 27 games of a season.
