It would be nice to go into St. Louis with fewer losses than the Cardinals.

I know there is still alot of games left, but it's a bummer that the playoffs were extended this year.

It's definitely the worst time to have a great regular season. There's barely an advantage to finishing #1 compared to #8. Either way your season comes down to a 3 games series. You just gotta make sure you've got your best team together when that time comes. The trade deadline is about 30 games in. If they make it that far you gotta think the season will probably finish so i hope the Cubs are looking hard at the trade market. They're gonna be over the lux tax anyway. Might as well try to take on some money. Ideally they'll have decided to try out some of the kids in the bullpen by then too. If they can ever manage to put together a good bullpen I like this teams chances, but this year is a bigger crapshoot in the playoffs then ever before.

    Very encouraged by Kimbrel yesterday!!!!!
He’s been making improvements every outing. First outing he was complete trash. 2nd outing he could only command his fastball. His 3rd outing he was throwing both the curve and fastball for strikes. Yea he gave up 2 hits in 3 batters, but I thought he loooked nasty!!!

If they're fortunate enough to put themselves into a comfortable lead down the stretch then they can use that to their advantage by giving the main guys some much needed rest. I think health will have a lot to do with whoever ends up winning this crazy season.

Cubs announced the Reds PPD from last Thurs will be made up on 8/29 as part of a DH. Obviously, they will both be 7 inning games due to the new rule added in for 2020

Hoerner in CF? Man, Rossy sure as hell does not want to play Almora.
    Screw sabermetics.

I think Almora has officially been relegated to the “late inning defensive replacement” role

And hopefully double the number of wins than games they played altogether.

Might be making too much of one game, but if the hook on Almora was this short, what was the point in tendering him a contract anyway? Only thing I can think is that pre-COVID the plan was for Hoerner to spend time in AAA before the season, but how long would that have really lasted?

I like Kauffman Stadium. I'd like to see it, Dodger Stadium, Fenway, PNC Park, Coors Field and possibly Globe Life Field. Once the kids get older and out of the house... or stop playing sports, more to the point. There's no time to go anywhere.

Anyway, I've always thought Kauffman Stadium looked cool.
