They DFA Grullσn, I don't like it, some teams should jump he is a very good bat with pop and seems to handle pitchers well, I see him as a D'arnaud type of player.

Stott is playing for the alternate team in Lehigh, he seem to be playing ok which is great given that COVID might stunt his development, I wonder where do they assign him next year, maybe advanced A a bit and then to AA.

I thought we were gonna trade MM, but he remains, good for him to be getting ABs after his injury, I really dislike how this year stunts growth from our prospects, I was really hi on Johan Rojas and Yhoswar Garcia as well as Francisco Morales.

    Better plate discipline
    Better defense in both infield/outfield
Better substitutions like last night with Walker
    Bullpen is coming around

I apply all these to Joe Giardi.

ahh ok i see now... its 60 million just by letting certain guys walk but we could also free up another 40 via trades

Being Aggressive in the Trade Market
Jean Segura is set to make $14.85 million in 2021, Andrew McCutchen is set to make $20 million, and Odubel Herrera is set to make a whopping $10.35 million. As long as Klentak is willing to be aggressive, that’s an additional $45 million the Phillies could see become available next offseason.

I don’t think any of those moves are happening. Maybe Segura because of position but then that means they’d most likely re-sign Didi so that 14 we’d see gained by losing Didi wouldn’t happen.

You also have to account for arb raises too and the (hopeful) re-signing of JT.

I think it’s closer to 30nil we’d see them to play with after all is said and done.

And Nola, Kingery, Cutch and Herrera are getting about 15 mil increases.

Unless Klentak gets super aggressive in trades, you’re not going to see much movement.

Realistically, you re-sign JT and Didi on another 1 (maybe 2) year deal and a couple BP arms with maybe a backend SP. that’s all you do.

    C:JT
    1B: Rhys
    2B: Kingery (maybe)
    SS: Didi
    3B: Bohm
    RF: Harper
    CF: Quinn/Haseley
    LF: Cutch

That’s fine going into next season. Stott may be seen next year or 2022 (why I say to keep Didi for 2).

You don’t need to do much to the offense at all.

    2020 Season Thread

Oh wait. I’m seeing something wrong because Arrieta is off the books I believe but where I’m looking says he’s signed through 2022

Ok very confused on this one as I thought the 21 and 22 seasons were only guaranteed if the Phillies voided the player opt out after 2019 which it seems they did but still seeing him listed as on the books through 2022.

Howard has looked okay in his first couple starts, but I hope we add someone nice there or use that money to lock up JT.

    Arrieta is gone for sure.

A poster in other forum posted this, thought it could help, he is a great guy.

    "Aaron Nola (SP1) ……………. 11.250.000
    Zack Wheeler (SP2) ………… 23,600,000
    Spencer Howard (SP3) ………… 565,000
    Zach Eflin (SP4) ……………….. 4,600,000
    Vince Velasquez (SP5) ………. 5,000,000

    Hιctor Neris (BP) ………………. 7,000,000
    Heath Hembree (BP) …………. 3.000.000
    Adam Morgan (BP) ……………. 3.000.000
    Victor Arano (BP) …………………. 800,000
    JoJo Romero (BP) ……………….. 565,000
    Ranger Saurez (BP) …………….. 565,000

    JT Realmuto (C) ………………. 24,000,000
    Rhys Hoskins (1B) …………….. 4,000,000
    Scott Kingery (2B) ……………… 4,000,000
    Jean Segura (SS) …………….. 14,000,000
    Alec Bohm (3B) ……………………. 565,000
    Andrew McCutchen (LF) …… 16,667,000
    Roman Quinn (CF) ……………….. 575,000
    Bryce Harper (RF) ……………. 25,385,000

    Adam Haseley (bench) ………….. 575,000
    Andrew Knapp (bench) ……….. 1,000,000
    Phil Gosselin (bench) ………….. 1,500,000

    Ser Ant’ny (gets paid despite missing 2021) … 800,000
Odubel Herrera (gotta pay him) .. 6,100,000
    Robertson buyout ………………… 2,000,000
    Player benefits ……………………. 15,500,000
    MiLB players on 40 man ………… 2,250,000

    Total ………………………………… 178,862,000

That’s 22 players, and would leave the Phillies $31,138,000 under the 210 million dollar luxury tax threshold with still three guys (a bat and two arms) to add to the roster.
    Here are a few thoughts/ideas:

    * I’ve given JT Realmuto a 5 year/120 million dollar contract, and added him to the payroll (as you can see)."

This pitching staff is so annoying. I knew that 4-3 wouldn’t hold up...can’t lose games like this all the time. So pathetic

The bullpen is atrocious. They are on pace to have the worst ERA ever. Sad.

2nd lowest IP in the league yet...

Highest HR/9, BABIP, HR/FB, ERA. (11th worst in xFip though) 5th worst fWAR.

    Garbage
