It called defeatism on their part in believing this is all there is and yours for not being sure this could be changed.
I am not literally tagging you as a defeatist but to often our politicans thinks this way when they cut social programs to the poor of all stripe. Why brother they will never change, than out comes the shears to cut education, etc. Sometimes the ones on the outside contribute to this cycle of poverty with their attitude.
A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom.

Umm that’s kind of the history here of how they got it in the first place.
Government land, private land, etc. whatever. I’m not making the demand, they are. And the response should be considerate and receptive rather than constantly ignored. It’s not up to us to decide the details. We just need something done.
I don’t see a need for African Americans to prove they were slaves. The system is broken against them regardless. And again I say, I’d rather we spend more efforts fixing these things than throwing around compensation packages.
Tax cuts or as I said credits, meaning if you don’t make much there’s still a minimum credit back. Maybe you’re at or below poverty level so instead of simply having a zero tax balance you get a credit.
Honestly none of us here (maybe flips) have the experience and knowledge from a social political and sociological perspective to determine what should be done. But clearly it’s more than what we’ve done.

Sorry but you're wrong. I've been around south side chicago for 5 years, it is so obvious that all you need to do is provide opportunity. Not handouts, but opportunities. The best thing about opportunities are once they learn how to walk, you don't have to feed it anymore. You just let it walk on their own.
What's your point about single parent households and out of wedlock births? America has more of that than most of the world, yet we seem to be doing fine. Someone dumbed down life too much for you and you fell for it.

It wasn't the same 'they' (individuals) that took the land or had it taken from them. I'm talking logistically. For example, I have friends...just good people who, like me, had their family originally come over from Scandanavia in the early 1900s...so had nothing to do with what happened to the indigenous people. They worked hard all their lives in order to save up, buy a piece of land in the Black Hills, and build their dream home. They should give that up, even if compensated by the government? Multiply that by thousands of times to give the Lakota the Black Hills.
I only mentioned 'proving they descended from slaves' if reparations were deemed specifically FOR that...I also mentioned if not, who all would be involved when some have not been in this country as long as others.....but all of this just goes to show the many layers involved.......meaning, I'd agree that direct reparations isn't likely the answer.......fix the system, work to correct/educate to end oppression, add programs/infrastructure to allow people better opportunities to prosper.Government land, private land, etc. whatever. I’m not making the demand, they are. And the response should be considerate and receptive rather than constantly ignored. It’s not up to us to decide the details. We just need something done.

gotta love 'referential' treatment
Let's try to be clear here (not easy to do on these boards)
In fact, let me be painfully clear so as to not mix anyone up (least of all you)
Bolded…I always have sided with the monied class over the lower class. Always
Let me repeat that for clarity:I always have sided with the monied class over the lower class. Always.
Here's why…
Monied class = Income
Lower Class = Expense
We should always try to maximize income and reduce/control expense. The more monet the "monied class" makes, the more opportunities are created for anything below them. The lower the lower class is, the less they create and the more expensive they become. You, and others, keep assuming that the "monied class" makes money and sits on it as if it were Uncle Scrooge's money bin. Nothing is further from the truth. Money moves. Money creates.
Money==>opportunity==>more money==>more opportunity
I am all for opportunity. No matter how low you are, I am all for moving up.
And for the record, on a scale of money and success, I would give myself a 4-5 on a scale of 10.
So, just to be clear…I always have sided with the monied class over the lower class. Always
……………
Part 2 This is what you said earlier……
This is what you stated that I said………
"Sluggos. Anything a Sluggo has he earned. Anything “you people” get you should be thankful for bc someone like Sluggo gave it to you."
Show me where I said the bolded part.
I asked you to show me where I stated the bolded part…twice now…and you haven't done it. Can you or can't you back up what you said. If not, be adult enough (lololololololol like that's going to happen) to withdraw the statement and apologize.
This is what you stated that I said………
"Sluggos. Anything a Sluggo has he earned. Anything “you people” get you should be thankful for bc someone like Sluggo gave it to you."
Show me where I said the bolded part.
Show me where I said it or admit that you made it up.
Either you can or you can't. Which is it???
