I'm going to swerve away from the big men here and take 2005-06 Dwyane Wade, who went super saiyan in those playoffs
I was looking to balance the possibility of a single-game breakout with sustained excellence over an entire season. For me, it came down to peak Wade, 2013-14 Durant, 1994-95 Hakeem and 1987-88 Bird. Kobe's single-game heroics are legendary, but I don't think he demonstrated the peak value to a winning team that the aforementioned players did.

Dwyane Wade gets the first vote. I freaking love it. Wade in 08-09 was an absolute monster.

Top 3 finals performance ever and/or a stat line thatís had/has never been put up again in 08-09 where he finished top 3 in MVP and DPOY and we even missed his MVP season in 06-07 due to injury, itís a shame!! Heís shown he can do it all on both ends of the floor on the biggest stage as good as anyone though and I think that holds a lot of merit here.

It might be Bird idk but I think Magic is hella underrated at this point. He is the greatest pg of all time. The greatest tempo game controlling player ever. Was 40 year old Kareem winning without magic? Was James Worthy a HOFer without Magic? He was great at filling a lane and a great finisher on the break but did he do much else well? I was also a big Scott fan but he was an all star at best. Coop? Rambis? Iím seeing role players. I donít think those Lakers were as stacked as they get credit for. They were showtime and showtime was all Magic!

2011 Wade gets my vote. He had his best efficiency season up to that point. In the playoffs he dominated in the Celtics series. He didnít take the most shots but made the most shots for Miami. He was the only player to average 30 points a game vs Boston.

In the Finals against Dallas Wade was shooting the ball better then his best efficient season. For reference, in 2006 Wade true shooting % was 57%. Giving Wade his Finals MVP. In 2011 Wade shot 61% in the finals. Basically Jordan.

2011 Wade got 30 a game on the defending eastern champions. Led Miami Big 3 in points, Wade led the team in assists but not turnovers and led in steals for the series. Dominated the series in 5.

Against Dallas Wade was just super efficient, even if we compare Wades shooting to Dirk and Terry for the series. 2 all time shooters. Wade led the team in scoring and had 9 block shots to lead the the series. Thatís both teams. Wade had 42 total rebounds behind team leader Bosh with 44 rebounds. Crazy to think this Wade could not bring the championship home that year.

I think heís just looking to downgrade Lebron there. Pretty common lately. Oh yeah, you know all about it.

    Iíll pick Bird.
