I mean, that contract could be a huge albatross in a few years. Can you really see the Jays outbidding the Yanks, Sox, Dodgers? Then again, I never thought they'd bag Ryu.

the number of teams that can afford those contracts is getting fewer and fewer each season. eg. Red Sox

So Camden it is. LOL Vladdy's going to hit them out one handed..

..check that, it's still pending approval from the state.

If approved they won't be able to use either clubhouse

Beats living on the road for 2 months. I think Baltimore is ideal. Its a hitter park, and they already have to play the Orioles a tonne in this sched so it minimizes travel. ...which is good for the players and good for the public. I really hope this gets approved.

Guess what team has one of the lowest salary caps in baseball even after the off-season signings? Oh and there's going to be another 20 million off the books this year when Tulo's deal finally expires.

Yes I could've. Remember when Rogers changed how closers (BJ Ryan) and pitchers who weren't aces (AJ Burnett) got paid forever? It was all Beeston and his reluctance to hand out anything more than 5 year deals. Now that he's gone I don't think it's out of the question to see the Jays throw 300 mil at someone. They made a move on Cole.

Apparently the Jays will be barnstorming for like 2 weeks or so while they renovate the stadium

Alright boys and girls, it's game day!

I'm so pumped. Let's hear your predictions for the year (I've been into the bourbon and green already today keep in mind).

    1. Bo Bichette is the Jays best position player by WAR and is in the top ten in MVP voting.

    2. Vladdy has an OBP of >.400.

    3. Matt Shoemaker is the Jays best starter.

    4. Jays finish 3rd in AL East and make the playoffs as one of the wild cards and the government allows them to come home to play them in front of 1/3 normal audience.

    5. 4-5 year extensions are announced for Shapiro and Atkins.

    6. Dodgers win the WS.

    SS Bichette
    2B Biggio
    1B Vladdy
    3B Shaw
    CF Grichuk
    DH Tellez
    RF Hernandez
    LF Fisher
    C Jansen

No Gurriel. Wonder if he's one of the players who tested positive? I imagine when Gurriel is in the lineup he'll be 4th or 5th.

    1. Jays make the playoffs

    2. Playoffs get shut down due to second wave of Covid.

IMO I'd rather have Tellez ahead of Grichuk.
