who knows, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if the FO just felt it was addition by subtraction. Trier is below Frank, RJ, Dotson on the depth chart and we'll probably draft 1 if not 2 more guards who will be above him. there's simply no role for him here and if you want a 12th man Trier is probably not the guy you want in that role.

at the end of the day Trier is just not that good, especially in today's game. people are acting like we cut a borderline all star or something. Trier likely won't even be in the league in 2 years.
    Yes that report is here:

Maybe but we would have no idea about that. We do know he kept himself ready, didnít complain, and played hard when he got in

So letís chill out with the whole Trier is a great teammate narrative.
Well he probably believes heís better than RJ and wishes he was handed the keys like RJ has been given. Heís clearly a very confident kid, he will probably have good success elsewhere.

And? I'm sure many NBA bench players believe they're better than the guys getting minutes over them, but that doesn't justify liking tweets that trash your teammates.

Iíve seen the tweets and they werenít really trashing RJ. Seemed to me it was more the NYC media looking for a story. Knicks sign him to a solid contract and then donít play him at all. Makes sense.

Anyone who is a competitor would be frustrated too.

Make a questionable move and trash whoever is involved on his way out the door. Classic Knicks

Trier is a good FT shooter (80%) and a career 38% from 3 thus far in his short career. He did the same thing in college. Itís shame guys like Bullock, Ellington, and all these veterans are still on the team while a promising young player like Trier gets the axe.
You know why he's gone because Knicks had to sign him the only reason they kept him around because he was connected to KD. Knicks have a history of not signing back there own young players.
