Hamels threw 3 innings (43 pitches) against live hitters today. Hes expected to start one of the games in Baltimore or New York.

Its pretty strange how great this team is at erasing deficits but really struggles to manufacture on a run. I guess thats the life of having a lineup full of power.

To me it shows we are heavy on needing HRs to score. We can come back from any game if the ball is leaving the park but not being able to score twice with a guy on 3rd isn't great. 22 guys left on base is crazy.

According to this it's a record being the record was 20.

Cant help but wonder how different the game coulda been had Acuna stayed in the game but regardless completely unacceptable. Markakis had some bad luck on his double play ball. Hard hit right up the middle but the shift got him.

Robbie Erlin DFAd but hard to get too excited because Newcomb was brought back in his place.

Bowman said Folty touched 95 on Tuesday. Going to make another start tomorrow, and can be an option for next week.

I have a feeling they are going to piggy back Hamels and Folty if it all works out

Braves may K a fair amount, but they really make pitchers work. Corbin is over 75 pitches to get through 4 innings. They have regularly done that to starters this year, especially good ones. They seem to make pitchers throw a lot of pitches and get into bullpens earlier than teams want pretty often.

Seeing Ian Anderson perform at a high level is so bittersweet. On one hand, the future is so bright with Anderson joining Soroka and Fried. The bitter part is we wont see it this year. A playoff rotation of Soroka, Fried, Hamels, and Anderson would have been fun to watch.

Wright was looking better today. Still has some work to do but, compared to his last starts he looked good.

He also made some changes, He's pitching from the left side of the rubber instead of the middle, he might be onto something.
