Game day!! Soroka VS Degrom should be a delight, looking at the potential Mets lineup they have a good one, with Soto being positive for COVID and probable out for at least 2 weeks, the Mets feel like our biggest threat right now so let's make a statement and beat their ace.

True, it actually comes out to $7mil. Still a chunk of change, but not overwhelming. They said he will be eligible to return in September, so maybe he can still pitch 5 or 6 games before its all done.

A pitcher's delight indeed. But it kinda feels like the Braves are due to slap 4 or 5 earned on this guy. Surely one pitcher can't limit on team to one or two runs EVERY time they face him. Im not sure if the braves have ever scored 3 EARNED runs off of him. I believe they have had a game or two where they scored 4, but either 2 or 3 were unearned due to errors.

Braves actually beat him twice last year, twice scored 3 earned off him. Once in 2017 we scored 5 earned on him. 2018 he cut through us like butter lol

Flowers and d'Arnaud are out today. Bowman says they tested negative but have symptoms.

How unlucky can you be? hopefully Contreras can make the most of this opportunity, he looked awesome this summer camp, his swing looks a lot like Acua.

The 3 favorite teams to win the east have bad news early on, Soto and Stroman also out for the Nats and Mets.

15 Ks today, yikes. The bats better wake up tomorrow. Too short a season to have games like today.

Pitching most of the time is head early on, they will get going at some point.

15 strikeouts on opening day. Thst was a pitiful game. Figured when they failed to get the runner in from 3rd w/less than 2 outs, it qoupd come around to bite. Not only did it come around to bite immediately, it was the difference in the game.

Poor, poor game today. Been a while since I've been that disappointed with an opener.

Riley had good at bats from what I saw. The strike zone was just killing him and the ump was calling **** away off the plate as strikes. He was laying off pitches outta the zone his biggest issue last year and they where getting called strikes.

He swung at #5 due to 1 and 2 being the same and being called strikes. Now his next two ABs where not as good but I liked what I saw in this one.

Yeah I noticed the same thing. Balls 3 and 6 he likely would have swung last year. Laying off those against deGrom was a nice sign of progress. Still, Im not expecting much in the average or OBP department this year. Just gotta hope theres enough contact from him so the power can be unleashed. We need his power more than we need him getting on base.
