Al Jazeera, like WSJ and TYT are good but I read everything with a heavy filter on because they can get a little out there in bias at times.

For inspiration on a general feel as well as possible shadowruns I would recommend TV shows like Peeky Blinders and Sons of Anarchy. Both deal with organized gangs but also include enough worldbuilding to show how corrupt the world is and how driven by violence and tribalistic a cyberpunk world should be.

Iím a broken record on this but, the newspaper. WSJ and NYT.

No not their websites or apps which populate off clicks, but a physical paper where stories are ordered by responsible editors.

At my last job I met and listened to a lot of political figures on both sides. One was adam Schiff who proved to be as boring and monotonous as every civil lit attorney I ever worked with. Iím not a fan of his. But when someone asked about tips for avoiding bias media and getting more news than just the two stories that cable news was exploiting in their 24 hour cycle, he had a good piece of advice.

ďPick up a paper and read through it. It forces you to see stories that you wouldnít normally see.Ē

It had been so long since Iíve done that, that I gave it a try again.

Once you get past the big cover story that cable news has already beaten to death, there is global coverage of so many important stories or interesting personal pieces that just donít exist anywhere.

And these journalists are where other media sources from.

I know the conservative hate of NYT, but they covered Hillary and Benghazi on the front page relentlessly. They exposed Obama as Deporter in chief. They broke news of his illegal drone strikes. They broke Whitewater.

I highly recommend picking up a NYT or WSJ paper (especially Saturday or SundayĒ) and reading through it. Regardless of your opinion of bias they both have some of the best investigative journalists in the world.

    Other than that:

PBS Newshour - Equal appearances from politicians on both sides and good daily summary.

    NPR Radio

The Intercept - Great at calling BS on both sides but currently in turmoil with Glenn Greenwalds departure.

    ProPublica - Fantastic investigative work.

InTheseTimes - web site and magazine because Iím a socialist at heart.

Democracy Now! - Hard left leaning, but factual based, not just opinion and good global coverage.

Red Nation Podcast - Focused on Native American community.
