Turn the sprinkler systems on, Grant Napear has been fired

Sacramento Kings play-by-play TV announcer Grant Napear lost his job with the team and radio station KHTK on Tuesday over his “all lives matter” social media comment directed at former Kings player DeMarcus Cousins.

The Kings in a statement said Napear resigned from his TV role.

“I want to thank the fans for their overwhelming love and support,” Napear said in a statement. “I will always remain a part of Kings nation in my heart.”

    Good riddance, Grant.

I am sure he didn't mean anything negative by it but nowadays you have to be very careful what you say when it comes to socially sensitive issues.

From what I have heard Napier say over the seasons he has trashed Cousins, I am surprised Napier responded like they were buddies.

If this was an isolated incident, I don’t think Grant would have been fired. The way that former players have spoken shows how people who work closely think about him. Probably more telling, I haven’t heard anyone get his back. I thought he was a good announcer, but he was an a-hole on his radio show. It was time to move on.

I wonder who takes his place.

My guess is Deuce Mason. Just seems like a logical progression since he's doing Stockton games. Some say it should be Gary geroud but he doesn't want to leave radio. Maybe Jason Ross? Kind of boring. I'm not entirely sure. Could be someone from out of market from a minority group.
