I posted this on my FB and tagged every basketball fan I know and one of my buddies created this exact team. That MJ/Wilt combo is tempting

I hate Chris Webber so much, I won't even use him for $1.
He would fit perfectly on that team...

All in their prime, shutting dudes down except for McGinnis who would dominate the paint.
    perimeter defense

Any worry about McGinnis 6'8 at center?

Maybe I'm a homer but I think Melo for a $1 is good!!

    James Harden-5-M

I think is my favorite I have made so far. really crappy spacing, but Harden doesn't need as much space as other superstars. I tried to do anyone but a center for the Antique era and it just didn't work. all the players I think could translate were too expensive. I think GP and Mchale are for me the two best deals after wilt. I tried to get Giannis to work, but its super tough since he counts as a modern so your spacing just gets wrecked.
I completely agree. Rose has been the most popular buy (an MVP for $1) but two-way studs for $3 or under is tremendous value.

I love that someone finally used Bird. Interesting that everyone is putting Artest at PF.

First Havlicek. Nice!! He could do it all. Your defense is outstanding. Do you worry at all not having any 3pt shooters in a "modern rules" game?

Even got a dolla to spare. Think I'll buy myself a Gatorade.
The antique player is the toughest call. You trust taking prime 50s Mikan 70 years later?

Wilt getting a ton of love. It probably makes sense as he is the "antique" player that is the easiest for the average person to accept could play in today's game.

I love this team too because you can run / play half-court and good defense.

I would say any player not listed would auto slot for a $1.

    Am I missing Bernard King?

Meh, Webber and Artest can hit open shots and so could Havlicek. Having guys who are mostly shooters doesn't help much, but Jordan having the ball most of the time means that the floor will be spread more often than not. Could get a more established shooter but the idea is to suffocate the others defensively so that they have no strength to keep up defending Jordan and a list of guys who could play both ends. And Mutombo will just be the icing on the cake. No no no, you ain't scoring here.

    Probably true.

I just always think of that 2011 Finals where a lineup of:

    Bibby/Wade/Bron/Bosh/Anthony couldn't handle a zone defense.
A professional team in the NBA finals couldn't shoot their way out of a zone defense.

    Then when the lineup became:
Chalmers/Wade/Battier/Bron/Bosh they won. Miller and Ray Allen helped them get the b2b.
