oh please, cops are the ones CREATING violence in nearly every altercation they have that includes violence. Their rules of engagement are beyond ****ed up. And for every cop killed by a gun (60 in 2022), they kill 19. So gtfo out of here with the blue lives matter ****.

Except, these dumbass republicans don't understand that there is no law that says cops have the right to kill unarmed people. They're just looking for justification to support the "thin blue line" because the rest of their junky republican friends support it.

To no one’s surprise, the police incident report the officers filled out mentioned nothing about the officer’s attack and even blamed it on Nichols.

How many police incident reports are outright bull**** like this I wonder?

Your sentence describes conservatives perfectly imo.

It goes back to, if it doesn't happen to their little circle, can't be a problem.

Ask a black person if they have ever felt targeted by the police. You will find a 90%+ "yes" rate, without a doubt.

Somewhat off topic but I always found it laughable how like 5+ years ago, a bunch of posters would chastise me for still living with my parents (I still do) even in spite of the growing income inequality and inability for a lot of people to afford rent.

That doesn’t even mention how 58% of young adults live with their parents at this point.

Even prior to that, it reeked of cultural incompetency - because a bunch of folks here couldn’t stand the idea of helping your parents out as they age.

But I guess this isn’t too off topic because it still demonstrates the inability around here to put yourselves in others shoes.

I get your point but it's not like the cops exclusively mistreat black people.

as someone who grew up in the white suburbs, this was always unique to me. In many cultures, families stay together forever, for various reasons (wealth, daycare coverage, combining bills, etc). It's SO foreign to our white US culture, as we are expected to leave for college and never come back. Which all sounds great, except like you stated, and we all know, the cost of living is a joke for anyone trying to live on their own with a salary even at the medium range.

not exclusively. But as I stated elsewhere, ask a black person if they have ever felt targeted by police. My guess is 90%+ say yes. Ask that same question to a white person at work. I am guessing the figure is more 10%-.

For sure, just pointing out that these issues with cops and violence aren't simply a matter of racism.

Its amazing how many protections cops have in respect to covering up their own reckless and criminal behavior. Whether its the blue wall, their fellow officers, qualified immunity, etc its basically free reign to operate however they want to without the proper avenues in place to hold them accountable. If Tyre's murder wasn't caught on camera, these cops were prepared to say he initiated the violence and was a danger to their lives when it was the other way around.

The settlements that always result from their actions should come from cop pensions and not city funds. That will fix **** real quick!
