Whether your pro death penalty or not, the criminal should not be deciding their own fate. If anything, it should be left up to the family of the victim. In fact, if the criminal said they wanted to die, I'd be more likely to make them live a full life in prison.

I legit donít understand what youíre trying to say or the point you are making. They arenít terminally ill so why are we even talking about this. I support doctors providing medication that will end the life of people who are terminally ill and suffering pain. Those conditions donít apply to someone serving life in prison. They arenít terminally ill or suffering pain. They donít meet either criteria. Not wanting to be in prison doesnít even come close to either criteria. Itís about as night and day as you can get.

If someone is in prison for the rest of their lives with no hope for parole why not let them kill themselves if they want?

We are not supposed to be seeking vengeance as a society.

So you don't want prisoners to be allowed to kill themselves. Is it about vengeance for you like joey says? Or is it some moral issue with suicide?

Why should taxpayers fund a person's life in prison if that person themself wants to die? And why are we even giving people who are in prison for a long time for what is obviously a very serious crime an option? Just eliminate them. Sorry, not sorry. Save the money and help people in need instead of paying the prison system millions of dollars to keep someone in prison for their lifetime. In business, it's called a sunk cost. Keeping them in prison for their punishment serves no one.

Whether you believe that prisoners are in jail for vengeance or rehab. they are there to serve their time for their crime. keywords: Serve their time. No prison escape, no escape from their time own to society for their crimes.

This is a law and order thing. You do your time.

There are three kinds of men. The one that learns by reading. The few who learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves.

We are not supposed to be seeking the opinions of criminals either.

Right now "just eliminate them" is the more expensive option.

Except you don't do your time a lot of the time for normal sentences. This is only about people with life sentences with no hope for parole. Their time is infinite. The only time their time is up is when their life ends. Do you want to go to heroic measures to keep life prisoners alive as long as possible? Even if they have a DNR on file?

We should be. You want expertise in the criminal justice system there is data only the criminals can give you.

Prison isn't supposed to be hell, we want people who are going to get out to be better people when they get out, not worse.
