You're correct. They didn't have tazers because they couldn't afford them without being defunded. Defund them, and they even have less tazers.

I don't know what to do about it either, but looting, stealing and violence is definitely not the answer.

Or perhaps it's a matter of misplaced priorities since Police have plenty of money for all this badass tactical gear, camo, and tanks. That and the 30% tazer armament is true when we haven't even defunded the police yet.

And you're smart enough to know this but only a small percentage of any police force is fitted with tech gear, if at all. Just like the tazers for this district.

My assumption is that far too many districts have tanks and wholly unnecessary tactical equipment and that the Money used to purchase that equipment should have been used to purchase tazers instead.

what was the officer originally trying to do? remove the person's hat/scarf/whatever? why was the person resisting that?

obviously there is much more wrong on the officer. but had he been able to remove the scarf without resistance nothing else would have happened. again the officer is clearly wrong and deserves to be held accountable.

It's just like George Floyd and others....YES they may have done something to be in that situation, YES they may even have helped escalate it...but they did NOT do anything worthy of capital punishment.
