this is why details are important, and people shouldn't be quick to judge either way.

What makes it even more bizarre is that if he did have a knife and a gun, that would have been reported by the police at the scene, especially under such a controversial shooting. The police almost certainly would have put out he had weapons in order to defend their actions.

Firing a gun in the air can be dangerous to bystanders so I don’t think police are allowed to do that...just fyi.

If the cops saw a gun that he was reaching for them we have a debate.

I haven’t seen reports of a gun but I also haven’t followed anything on news or social for weeks.

I did say "there wasn't the direct threat to them at that point" so this shooting I don't think was justified. but there are also details that we should know. it looks like he had a knife and was told to drop the knife. why did he not listen? that doesn't mean he should have been shot, but he has fault here too.

what deaths? more deaths because of police? specifically what deaths? if people want to use an example of someone black where the shooting was justified, then it's flawed, perception of being wrong and not reality.

I have seen people saying that what they want is for police to stop shooting black people. just that alone, stop shooting anyone that is black. but there is no chance that is going to ever happen because some of the time there is going to be someone who happens to be black (description, not why) that is going to be shot and it's justified.
