how could it not. innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. doubt that Chauvin's knee is what caused the death of George Floyd is a factor.

what has been the cause of death for George Floyd?

    https://www.startribune.com/cause-of.../?refresh=true

Prosecutors trying the former Minneapolis police officer charged with murder in George Floyd's death appeared to distance themselves last week from the medical findings on his cause of death, issued by the only doctor who performed an autopsy.

Special Prosecutor Jerry Blackwell told jurors last Monday that while Hennepin County Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Andrew Baker ruled Floyd's cause of death cardiac arrest, prosecutors would prove he died of asphyxia, or, lack of oxygen, while Chauvin knelt on his neck for more than nine minutes.

there was no reason for Chauvin to have had his knee on Floyd, but if that was not the cause of death then that would be important.

Best-Selling Devotional Has Prayer to 'Help Me to Hate White People'
How far have we come since Martin Luther King Jr. gave his famous “I Have a Dream” speech?

Sometimes, I’m not so sure. While our society has made tremendous progress toward the idea that all men are created equal, anti-whiteness seems to be all the rage these days. And that is no less racist than hating anyone of any other color.

Yet, in the book, A Rhythm of Prayer: A Collection of Meditations for Renewal, there is a prayer called “Prayer of a Weary Black Woman” that asks God to “help me to hate white people.”

    Dear God,

Please help me to hate white people. Or at least to want to hate them. At least, I want to stop caring about them, individually and collectively. I want to stop caring about their misguided, racist souls, to stop believing that they can be better, that they can stop being racist.

The offending prayer was written by Chanequa Walker-Barnes, Ph.D. According to her bio, she is a “theologian and psychologist” and “her mission is to serve as a catalyst for healing, justice, and reconciliation.”

As you can see in the above screenshots, the whole prayer is a hateful screed against white people, and even specifically calls out “Fox News-loving, Trump-supporting voters.”

My prayer is that you would help me to hate the other white people—you know, the nice ones. The Fox News-loving, Trump-supporting voters who “don’t see color” but who make thinly veiled racist comments about “those people.” The people who are happy to have me over for dinner but alert the neighborhood watch anytime an unrecognized person of color passes their house.

Lord, if you can’t make me hate them, at least spare me from their perennial gaslighting, whitemansplaining, and white woman tears.

How is this not racist? She basically claims that if you’re white and watch Fox News and voted for Trump, you’re a racist.

How does something like this get published and make the New York Times bestsellers list? Imagine if there was a daily prayer in there that began “Dear God, Please help me to hate black people.” There would be outrage—and justifiably so.

this is racist, and this racism influences other people to have the same thoughts.

It was the cause of death. It's on video. Wtf?

He could have died of asphyxiation, heart attack, etc, doesnt matter, either way chauvin caused it.

It's on video, wtf are they thinking?

This trial is a perfect metaphor for race relations in this country. We have literal video evidence of a cop putting their knee on a guy's neck for 9 minutes who eventually dies and people are saying "we need to wait for the verdict of the court before we rush to conclude what he did was bad".

The autopsy report from Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office concludes the cause of death was "cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint, and neck compression." That conclusion, death due to heart failure, differs from the one reached by an independent examiner hired by the Floyd family; that report listed the cause of death as "asphyxiation from sustained pressure."

what did the medical examiner that did the autopsy say?

I would say the video is very damaging, and the knee remaining on Floyd had an impact. but I'm not an expert like the medial examiner that did the autopsy.

Ya think? When it comes to watching a video of someone putting their knee on a man's neck for 9 minutes, everyone is an expert on knowing that is wrong...

The cause of his death is obvious. Chauvin is going down big time.

I only expected you to comment on Republicans not calling out Gaetz because you chastised Democrats for not calling out Cuomo while ignoring Republicans not calling out Gaetz.

I don’t expect anyone to comment on this inanity, though I did expect you to post it.

The issue is ... if Chauvin is judged guilty of assault he goes down, if what he did is justified or "reasonable" based on the situation and training then he could still get off even with the video.

Most people don't understand that that is all that matters. If someone dies related to a felony it's felony murder the cause of death doesn't matter. If Chauvin commited an assault that's a felony and that makes it murder REGARDLESS OF CAUSE OF DEATH (the emphasis is for Special).
