When did San Antonio stop being great?

So talking in another thread and the question came up of how talented the 2013-2014 Spurs teams were.

So my question is, when did San Antonio stop being a great team? When did they stop being one of the top teams in the league?

At what point were they no longer a serious title contender or an all-time team?

Yes. I have little doubt they never would have dipped below 50 wins and would have gotten back to the very top had KL not gone AWALL

Yeah, as others have said, they stopped being great when Kawhi quit on them.

But in the context of why you made this thread, Lebron James, as someone who is arguably the single greatest player in NBA history, with the teammates he had should have beaten them that last year in Miami IMO.

Initially when Kawhi got hurt.. Then when they traded for DeRozan it was officially over for the spurs.

It’s not like they didn’t beat the Sours, they beat them the very prior year.

2007 is when they clearly lacked talent. Then again in 13/14 I think they were once again very lacking talent wise.

Tony Parker, Manu, Kawhi, Tim Duncan, Boris Diaw, and Danny Green = lacking in talent? I'm not sure what you were watching. San Antonio stopped being great when LaMarcus Aldridge became their best player.

It’s crazy they had a “superstar succession plan” from D-Rob to Duncan and then from Duncan to Kawhi and it fell apart.

Sarcasm, those are the years they faced Lebron.

They were 1st in SRS 07 and 14. I think almost everyone else agrees it was when Kawhi left/stopped showing up in reality.

They can thank Kawhi's uncle for that.
