Lori Loughlin to plead guilty in college admissions scandal, faces 2 months in prison
Lori Loughlin, the television actress who for 14 months maintained her innocence in the college admissions scandal, has agreed to plead guilty to fraud and spend two months in federal prison, according to court documents unsealed Thursday.
last I read she could have been facing 20 years if this went to trial. she pleads guilty, and is facing only 2 months.

So by fighting it she didn't win, but she greatly reduced her prison time.......and made her lawyer more wealthy than if she hadn't

What confuses me is why she'd get 2 months while her husband gets 5....I thought she was the primary instigator in all this.

She paid people to get her kids in school. Am I missing something? I don't see why this is some outrageous crime.

I don't think what she did was outrageous, but still crimes.

I don't understand how the charges filed against her could have resulted in 20 years, but after she agreed to plead guilty here she only gets 2 months. that is an awful difference.

I didn't like the idea of her getting 20 years, but it should still be more than 2 months.
I could understand less than a year, along with probation, or community service, house arrest.

White collar crimes are the most oppressive and affect society more than anything. Every single one contributes to the oppression of those at the bottom of the economic totem pole.

This is outrageous and it should be heavily punished.

Why are you surprised? A woman could commit murder and still get less time then a man would.
