Favorite College Football Player (and Lions player in College)

I saw rocket talking about Cam Newton and thought it might be fun for everyone to share their favorite player(s) from college here. You know since there is not much else going on!

I'll start with my favorite Lions player in college:
He wasn't a great Lion, but Mike Williams. Dude was awesome at USC. The guy looked unstoppable and that USC run alone was incredible (this was prior to the SEC takeover). I had just started to really watch CFB outside of Michigan at that point (2002-2003) so I got to see other team's great players and he was great. So when we drafted him I was excited. He was going to be our dominate WR. Oops. Lucky we got it right a few years later.

    Non-Lions college player:
Vince Young. What he did to USC in the National Championship I cannot forget. Non-Michigan fans might not remember but Vince Young did the same to Michigan the year before. Dude was just unstoppable in the air and on the ground. Definitely a fun player to watch.

Charles Woodson was the first name that came to mind. But that's too easy.

    I have some random names

    Woody Dantzler from Clemson
Michael Bishop from Kansas State (If I'm not mistaken he was actually the deep throw specialist of the Pats over Brady)
    Troy Davis from Iowa State
Ricky Williams and James Brown from Texas (I really hated Nebraska)
    Leeland Mcelroy from Texas A&M

I'm trying to avoid Michigan players because it's too easy, but I'll add Glen Steele, Jarret Irons, and Sam Sword, just because the greatest collegiate defense of all time had guys named Steele, Irons, and Sword, how can you not love that?

Other B1G defensive players I can think of would be Lavarr Arrington and Courtney Brown at Penn St, and Kevin Hardy & Simeon Rice at Illinois

edit: oops you meant players that ended up with the Lions

    hmm, I liked James Hall!

bonus edit: how could I forget the brief time the Lions had Desmond Howard!

Favorite College Player on the Lions: Well I have I have a couple because I grew up in the 80's and was able to witness Barry play in college. His 2,628 yds in 1988 still stands as the greatest single season rushing record. Only two players have come close. The second is Ernie Sims. He was an awesome player at Florida State and had similarities to Derrick Brooks. He had 124 tackles (81 solo) along with a half a sack and pass deflection his rookie year. Then we traded him to the Eagles in a three team deal that gave us Tony Scheffler and 7th round pick in 2010.

Favorite Non Lion College Player: To stick with the Florida State theme I am going to say Deion Sanders. He was the biggest trash talker and he was able to back it up.
While I grew up in Michigan I liked Andre Rison.

If D-Rob only could put touch of accuracy on his throws. He was special when he got into open space.

I can't really say that I watched much college football growing up, aside from the Michigan games, but one player I am always captivated by when watching his highlights is Reggie Bush. Guy straight up tore it up at USC. I'd say he had a productive career but was nowhere near as dominate in the NFL as he was in college.

I remember the "war" guys from FSU; Peter Warrick, Charlie Ward, and Warrick Dunn

I whiffed hard on Peter Warrick, I thought he'd be a monster

As a player I like and want to see more of this season (assuming there I know) is Max Borghi.

The comparison is obvious, I don't know if he is that good but even if he were to become an Austin Ekeler in the pros he would be a great find for any team.

Ohh! Another name I just remembered in my angst against Nebraska; Chris Brown from Colorado, scored 6 TDs in a 62-36 beat down in 2001 to knock Nebraska from the title picture

I doubt there's any Lions connection but I reveled in that one

Or what Rondale Moore (future Lion please) and D.J. Knox did to OSU a few years ago. That was nice too.

Oh man, that game against Fresno ST was one of the most underrated games of all time

USC vs Texas was probably the best game ever, but that Fresno game, back when Pat Hill was willing to play anyone, anywhere, at any time, and damn near pulled it off, that's up there

The Chris Weinke to Peter Warrick Statue of Liberty play in the Sugar Bowl was a thing of beauty.
