I get that these guys aren't choir boys, but this is looking like a pretty bad run. Too much time on their hands....

This is actually one of the lowest total arrests in May so far for the NFL (given it's a time most players are on their own). I think it was just the timing of all being arraigned/arrested on Saturday and no other sports to distract.

Another theory I saw a guy put out there is these guys are in their hometowns longer than they usually would be, and all the arrests so far have happened in states that are more 'open' than others. Maybe getting to be around old habits/childhood friends, and the increased liberty to move around is causing some of the problems.

National Felons League indeed. I wonder if Boldin will ask Tom Brady to sign a letter condemning them.

I definitely think being in their home town longer is part of the reason. I think as we are starting to see the restrictions ease, more and more players are going out now so the opportunity for some of them to be complete idiots has increased.

The NFL used to have services in member cities and other large cities that would give ride services to any current player who needed one. That was pre-Uber and Lyft, but I have to imagine that those are still active.

Also, the gun issue could be impacted by the DWI. Even if the gun is registered and legal for him to carry, being under the influence removes those protections and now becomes part of the crime.

He had a road beer in between his legs. Not a "oh noes I cant get home" DUI.
