    Grade your 2017 Draft

Just going off what QB_Eagles has been talking about, so let's go back to 2017 draft and grade how your team did.

    Grade your 2017 Draft

    Eagles: C/C-

Barnett and Jones still have some potential but have been overall disappointments so far.

Gerry, Qualls, Douglas have been decent depth but nothing outstanding.

Gibson, Pumphrey, Hollins were garbage. Itís bad when a draft pick is called a bust at the time he was picked and basically proves that in the same off season (pumphrey)

They have no starters, yet, out of this group. I mean I guess Gerry is technically a starter now but with that group of LBs and the lack of players there, itís a faux starter.

Just by a quick glance (removing Houston and KC), New Orleans and Pitt probably had the best drafts.

    A-/B+

    CMC: speaks for itself
Curtis Samuel: he's gonna be a star, but probably not with us. His route running and speed are phenomenal, but his best routes are deep routes, which our QB/OL wont work with.
Taylor Moton: one of the better RTs in the league

The Saints had probably the best draft of that class: RT Ramcyk, CB Lattimore, RB Kamara, DB Williams, and probably someone else I'm forgetting.

Oh had Carolina too as I looked at them first (after Eagles) with McCaffery but then forgot.

    C.

The jury is still out on Malik Hooker (1st). Quincy Wilson (2nd) is a total bust. Terrell Basham (3rd) only lasted one year with the team. Zach Banner (4th) didn't even make it to the regular season.

That alone might be worth an F. But the 2nd half of the draft ended up being pretty good and makes up for it. Marlon Mack (4th) is obviously a pretty good running back. Grover Stewart (4th) has developed into a starter in the base defense. Good run defender. Nate Hairston (5th) had a good year or 2 in the slot. Anthony Walker (5th) is a solid linebacker.

Yeah not a very sexy draft for the birds

Also brought in Corey clement as an UDFA that year, great timing because the best game of his career came in the super bowl later that year. Didnít do a whole lot outside the super bowl due to injuries and other guys coming in though

And brought in Cameron Johnston as an UDFA who has been the eagles punter for the last 2 years and probably a top 10 punter in the league during that time.

    Your baby can't do this

1-30 TJ Watt...I don't think you can do much better than that at this point of the draft. He's got to be a top 5 edge rusher now.

2-62 Juju Smith-Schuster...I think the jury is still out on if he can be a #1 WR but he's proven to be an elite #2.

3-94 Cameron Sutton...dude has been really solid since he's gotten the chance to play. Better cover man than our other slot corner Mike Hilton.

3-105 James Conner....Been a very solid RB when healthy. Unfortunately that has been a bit of an issue with him.

4-135 Josh Dobbs...Didn't really play much but was ok when he did for a backup. Shipping him for a pick in this draft hopefully works out.

A side note here; we now have the player taken 2 picks before Dobbs and 2 picks after Dobbs (Ryan Switzer and Zach Banner)

5-173 Brian Allen...Was very raw when taken. Bounced back and forth off the PS, then eventually waive via an injury settlement.

6-213 Colin Holba....A damn long snapper in the 5th....who got cut that year.

7-248 Keion Adams....Just injured way too much to make any judgement.

Outside of Kenny Golladay and Agnew (Reeves-Maybin maybe but only as a ST guy) the draft is terrible. Having the 2nd best pick being a return specialist only, not even a good NCB, just highlights how awful BQ did. 2016 is just as bad too.

    Picks for Reference sake:

    Rd. 1-Jarrad Davis

    Rd. 2-Teez Tabor

    Rd. 3-Kenny Golladay

    Rd. 4-Jalen Reeves-Maybin

    Rd. 4-Michael Roberts

    Rd. 5-Jamal Agnew

    Rd. 6-Jeremiah Ledbetter

    Rd. 6-Brad Kaaya

    Rd. 7-Pat O'Connor

    F. The only players from that class still in the Broncos roster is Garrett Bolles and DeMarcus Walker. Bolles hasn't been great and Walker has been deep on the bench.

    1. Tre'Davious White
    2. Zay Jones
    3. Dion Dawkins
    5. Matt Milano
    5. Nathan Peterman
    6. Tanner Vallejo

White is an All-Pro CB, Dawkins has been a good LT, and Milano is proof that late picks matter. Big whiff on Jones.

We were discussing the success, or lack thereof, of the 2016 Lions draft over in the DET forum so was already kind of in the process of doing some research of what draft picks are still with the team that draft them. I'm bored.

League average in 2016 was about 23%. Meaning, 23% of draft picks are still with their respective team. For 2017 the league average is about 54%. Top 10 in terms of ratio are:

    Los Angeles Chargers - 100%
    New Orleans Saints - 86%
    Chicago Bears - 80%
    Los Angeles Rams - 75%
    Carolina Panthers - 71%
    Atlanta Falcons - 67%
    Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 67%
    Cincinnati Bengals - 64%
    Indianapolis Colts - 63%
    Philadelphia Eagles - 63%

Now this doesn't necessarily tell you the whole picture as you could have 100% of your picks ending up as back ups. But I do think it's cool to see who can draft and who sucks at it.

I would say C for the Packers

Round 2, pick 33: Kevin King, CB, Washington - when Healthy has been a solid CB. Just has had some injury problems.
Round 2, pick 61: Josh Jones, S, NC State - I think he could have been something but, they were trying to do wayyyyy tooo much with him. It seemed like each week they tried to switch him to a different spot.
Round 3, pick 93: Montravius Adams, DT, Auburn - really hasn't show anything
Round 4, pick 108: Vince Biegel, OLB, Wisconsin - I think he has finally some success with Miami
Round 4, pick 134: Jamaal Williams, RB, BYU - never going to be a lead back but, good receiving back
Round 5, pick 175: Deangelo Yancey, WR, Purdue - bounced around the league. didn't pan out
Round 5, pick 182: Aaron Jones, RB, UTEP - probably the best pick out of this class. Has given the packers something they have lacked for a while, a run game
Round 6, pick 212: Kofi Amichia, T, South Florida - didn't pan out, saw a little time on game day rosters but, never played
Round 7, pick 238: Devante Mays, RB, Utah State - cut at end of camp, didn't do much else after that
Round 7, pick 247: Malachi Dupre, WR, LSU - had high hopes for him but, they cut him at the end of camp hoping to stash him on the PS but, signed with Buffalo and didn't do anything after that.

    C for the Vikings
No 1st rd pick, but still got Dalvin Cook
4 of the other 10 picks still on the team, 2 starters 2 solid rotational players.
2 others on other teams, not starters...
    gotta love 'referential' treatment
