    Love-Rodgers/Favre-Rodgers

Does anyone think the situations or the parallels are there? Packers draft a QB back in 2005 when Favre was clearly the QB and that turned out to be Aaron Rodgers who was already great at collegiate level way back when but managed to fall to the Packers. Favre was a vet but his time more or less was winding down and they were grooming Rodgers to replace Favre. Needless to say Favre and Rodgers their relationship with one another wasn't all that great because of that. Now the shoe is on the other foot but with Rodgers in Brett Favre's position in his 15th year in this league in his mid to late 30s and the Packers drafting the new kid on the block, Jordan Love. I wonder what this means for Rodgers going forward? Does he end up retiring? Or does Rodgers request a trade to another team?

Obviously the parallels are there....but so are the differences
Rodgers wasn't viewed as raw and needing a couple years to develop given many expected he'd be #1 overall to the Niners whereas Love was all over the board as far as how teams viewed him and NObody expected he'd play for a year or two. Also, when Rodgers was drafted there were already hints Favre would be done in a year or two so it made sense. Rodgers doesn't currently plan to be done in a year or two...so unless the Packers think otherwise, Love quite likely sits behind Rodgers until he's either viewed like Garapolo (trade bait because he's ready but blocked) or has several years of waiting in. Either way, he helps 2020 and 2021 Packers virtually none at all. I doubt it means anything for Rodgers other than him being irritated they didn't grab a single WR from this generational pool. The only way he goes to another team is if the Packers put pressure on at some point because they like Love's progress.
    gotta love 'referential' treatment

I think this thread should be renamed to "which team is trading for Rodgers before the season starts?"
    Dak: 15,778 @ 65.8%, 7.6 per att, 97+21 TD, 36 INT+31 FMB, 97.0 Rate
    Wentz: 14,191 @ 63.8%, 6.9 per att, 97+3 TD, 35 INT+48 FMB, 92.7 Rate

    2020:
    Dak: 266 @ 64.1%, 6.8 oer att, 1 TD, 0 INT, 92.5 Rate
    Wentz: 270 @ 57.1%, 6.4 per att, 2 TD, 2 INT, 72.5 Rate

"Hater" is a term used by weak minded people in the face of legitimate criticism.

If Rodgers throws back the clock to prime rodgers for the next 4 years, you trade love and let Aaron play the final 2 -3 years. Aside from the SEA game in the playoffs, he looked pretty rough. What are the chances that actually happens? Well, he hasn't felt a feeling like this since probably 2005. If he still struggles in 2020 like he did in 2019, then the pick was proven right

Also, in 2018 he had Matt Wells. Wells went to Tech and while they didn't win many games, they put of a lot of points. Love got Gary Andersen, and well Gary anderson is just an awful coach. So I'm remaining optimisitc.

GB can’t trade Rodgers until after next season. Too much dead money. But if his decline continues as it has, Rodgers is done in GB after next year. He simply isn’t worth the money in his new contract by a long shot.
