Actually, Biden is making this up. There is no data to support this, even if the president had moved rapidly in January to deal with the coronavirus and been able to persuade the Chinese leadership to be more forthcoming about the situation. Even nations that have been praised for their handling of the pandemic, such as South Korea, New Zealand and Iceland, have suffered some deaths (377 in South Korea, 25 in New Zealand and 10 in Iceland).

In the United States, with 50 states run by governors, policies have varied greatly. Trump has been faulted for not articulating a national plan, but he would have had trouble persuading every governor to follow the exact same path.

Either way it's a HUGE number, well over 200k due to his incompetence by the time election comes around.

That seems INCREDIBLY optimistic, particularly considering the plain old flu without a vaccine would kill somewhere around 100k people yearly. And considering 60k+ of the corona deaths are from CA, NY, and NJ ... and those state's leadership have been publicly ignoring trump from the start, I don't know that those can be put on Trump.

I don't think anybody will argue Trump has done a great job, but certainly we also don't know he made an 80% difference. That's just lunacy.

For over 3 months this virus was spreading completely unchecked. Right now, 8 months later we still dont have any scientific based plan of action from our federal govt. All they're doing is trying to time a vaccine out before elections.

I think you are SEVERELY under estimating the power of human behavior and its consequences.

You say its lunacy cuz you dont know the science or the math behind it, so you just see a huge number like 80% without realizing how easily realistic that number actually is.
