Trump won’t implement a national mask mandate because Joe Biden hasn’t done it...this orange blimp...

And his base sees that as a legitimate statement!

Trump doing his best Fox News impression. Assign blame to the opposition irrespective of the fact that they have no role in anything. I wonder if the man knows he's the president and has been since the pandemic came stateside.

if Trump is responsible for things while he was President, then so was Obama for when he was President, and Bush when he was President. do you not see how this works, if that is the narrative now with Trump. but of course this type of conclusion is ******** anyway.

good point, so he is a hypocrite. both can be justified, even if hypocritical.

I replied to a specific post that said the buck stops at Trump because he is the President. the comparison would then be the same for any past Presidents when they were President.

Meaning what exactly? Yes, those in charge are responsible for things that happen under their watch?
WhatEVER things you think that was during other administrations.....doesn't diminish or change what's happened under Trump's. Yes, he's had a pandemic AND civil unrest on his watch simultaneously. Other administrations have had major issues, not initially their fault, happen under theirs as well.

Name one who handled it as poorly as Trump. Don't deflect everything to 'Dem governors did this' or 'the Obama administration didn't do that'.....how has TRUMP's reaction shown him to be the leader this country needed...and needs 4 more years of?
    gotta love 'referential' treatment

what I said is about more than covid19, it could be anything.

I haven't denied that Trump has fault/blame with covid19, even said he deserves more blame than anyone else.

what would it mean, the buck stops with Trump? that it's all his fault? mostly his fault? whatever that would be, then the same thing should be applied to literally any other President on things/events that happened when they were President.

this could be related to many different things, like response to natural disaster, response to civil unrest. if the buck stops with Trump for what happens with situations like this as President, then the same thing should be the case with other Presidents. racial unrest is not new with Trump as President, there was protesting and rioting when Obama was President. is anyone going to say Obama was mostly to blame for that? doubtful.

So what is your issue here? Are you looking for numbers? Like this issue is 45% Trump's fault, that one is 56% Trump's fault? I'm not sure where you're going. In many/most of the instances when someone says the buck stops here, they're simply meaning...of all the people who should bear fault in this situation, that person bears more than anyone else. That may or may not mean the majority, but does mean more than any other person or entity.

it's a simple point, if Trump is at fault for whatever while he is President, then the same would be the case for any other President, such as Obama. but the same people don't want to do that.

look at the immigrant children in cages. Trump is vilified for this, yet they were Obama's cages and he did the same thing, but doesn't get anywhere close to the same blame.

I prefer the states maintain their own power.

I actually don't know which states don't have mask mandates.
