COVID-19 Response: An issue that shouldn't be at all political....yet here we are

I am bringing up the US response so you recognize the true fuel behind this stupid china story.

I recognize that there are those in the US who will use the fact China under reported their cases to mitigate or absolve the US of blame. Obviously, I don’t believe that.

I dont need video evidence, it's just that all of this stuff is EXPECTED. Its expected that they have issues initially regarding classification of cases. You keep pointing out normal and expected things and somehow interpreting them as backing up this story about china lying.

Ok so one part of the chinese govt lied to the other. Ok, so what? Republicans are saying bogus **** on a daily basis for fear of what might happen if trump or trump followers turn on them. Ok so what? That's some normal sort of ****. It was a **** up, yes, but it's just not what you're thinking it is.

I just think you are severely misinterpreting numerous things and that's why you think this baseless story has any substance to it.

I actually don't think that China under reported their cases. I honestly believe their numbers are accurate. But that's only because I honestly believe once they realized they had an uncontrolled pandemic that they started killing infectious people. We already know they were sealing people in their homes so they literally couldn't leave, effectively sentencing them to death.

I dont know if they started killing infectious people, but yea they had them locked down HARD. They have hella videos of how they would go through and disinfect and quarantine entire high rises.

Can you show me where the US repeatedly knew of the official case count or death count and provided a different number?

Not as in, provided the number of likely infected as opposed to for sure infected. But knew the number was say 5,900 and instead said it was 2,800?

One thing I will say from it and regardless the extremes they took, I don't trust them. Their numbers might be somewhat accurate but the means they got to them are extremely sketchy and if they are accurate certainly something that despite our disagreement in the last few pages/days that we would both never accept.

They ARE trying to discern how to quantify it as evidence by the fact they had their numbers sub categorized. They gave the media the cherry on top version. Ok.

well, I don't know that there really ARE businesses that are quite in the same category as a religious organization....for one there are no businesses that have the variety of events that may happen at a church, two there are no businesses that involve similar emotional draws

but the main reason I said 'who's on first' is because for me it just seems this entire discussion is going in circles...with religious people feeling it right that churches are being too restricted at times, and non-religious people feeling the opposite...and no amount of discussion will change either side's perception

Isn’t this the whole point of the disagreement? Some view region as a special category into itself? I’m not religious but honestly have no desire to end religion or close places of worship down. I also understand that they are significant to people’s daily lives. But they aren’t essential in a pandemic as places of worship (other religious functions may be deemed essential) and treating them like they are isn’t treating them like other businesses it treating them as special. And this is public not personal health. Saying you will die for the right to go to church is missing the point because it’s just as possible that getting infected will cause you to inadvertently contribute to the spread that will take the lives of others. This has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with a pandemic.

Donald Trump was fired from his job because of his response to Covid, as well he should have been. Had he done a reasonable job of responding to it, he would have been re-elected in a landslide.
