COVID-19 Response: An issue that shouldn't be at all political....yet here we are

Maybe not necessarily, but I dunno, it seems like a good stat.

If you told me US car sales would be above pre covid numbers come next February, I'd be feeling kinda good about that.

Imagine what trump would do with that stat..

From a political standpoint for Trump and his house-of-cards economy — perhaps.

Over the past several months, Tenpenny had been very active on social media voicing his support for President Donald Trump and his opposition to the Black Lives Matter movement and expressing extreme skepticism about the coronavirus.

On May 30, Tenpenny posted a statement on Facebook falsely attributed to former Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., putting forward conspiracy theories that the virus is nothing more than a political trick to derail Trump's re-election bid.

Gowdy did not make such a statement, and Facebook labeled Tenpenny's reposting as "false information."

Then, on June 29, Tenpenny posted a meme that equated wearing a mask to being "manipulated to live in irrational fear" and willing "to be controlled by a socialist agenda."

And on July 7, he wrote that "the CDC and the WHO are pure lying (expletive)" and that public health officials are "not telling you the truth."

Tenpenny made more than a dozen posts stating or sharing Covid-19 disinformation, including video from a Texas doctor who peddled dangerous theories about the virus, linking its cause to demons. Facebook flagged the July 29 posting by Tenpenny as "Partly False Information."

Somebody died a very preventable death because of their own stupidity. I am sad that a hundred thousand Americans have died from Covid. I am not sad that people who spread lies about Covid die of it.

This is all a balancing act. We're not gonna shut planet earth down to save 1 life, so what IS acceptable? Theres differing opinions on it, who's to say the left's approach is acceptable either?

I agree with the overall sentiment, but to say that about someone who just died is imo unfair. It's not simple as he lied and killed people, it's more complex than that.

If all he did was reasonably disagree on the response to Covid, I'd have sympathy for him. Calling it a hoax and a lie is not a reasonable disagreement. It is peddling lies and conspiracy theories. Unfortunately one of the repercussions of peddling such nonsense is people don't take precautions and risk exposure and death. Which is exactly what happened to this individual.

Yes they ****ed up beyond what I can legitimately comprehend. I still dont understand how such an obvious blunder passed by so many levels of government. I agree.

But the left played their role, playing the shut down drum, putting pressure on places that dont need to shut down to shut down so they could hurt the economy in an election year.
