The Leftist Myth: Everyone Loves Our Policies!

I keep seeing on this site that polls are very one sided. And how leftist policies don't get passed even though they have massive political approval. I thought I'd take some time to explain why this is a lot of times deceptive information. And really points to my problem with the far left. And after the outcry of more misinformation after Pelosi was unanimously elected speaker for another 2 years. I thought I'd give my take on at least one of the misleading claims I continuously see.

No Medicare for all is not Massively liked over Everything Else

This is so damn frustrating, and I constantly will see the same stupid national polling data that 75% of people want M4A "people like M4A and the corporations won't let you have it".

This is such a deceptive claim and is saturated in ********. For the following reasons.

    1. These people will constantly point to Sanders plan. The problem is Sanders is for a different type of Medicare. One that covers less than current Medicare covers.

    2. Studies from places like the Kaiser foundation have concluded pretty simply.... Healthcare is confusing. And difficult. And when you explain M4A the polling massively drops. This is important because M4A has received very little attention in the media. And when you start pushing something you got to know how people are going to react to the new information.

    3. Avoid deceptive polls about the ACA. People are constantly posting ********/outdated polls on the ACA. Truth is... It has had a massive upswing in popularity since it was finally fully implemented. It still isn't loved by small businesses. It still definitely needs improvements. But it isn't hated like the far left tries to paint it.

    4. Red States do not want M4A. Again it's the problem of it not being understood. They want a public option which M4A doesn't provide. And they want choice. M4A literally makes certain things ILLEGAL to cover from a private insurer.

    5. Just in explaining the cost and lack of options in M4A, studies have show a 30 point DROP! And even in his proposed tax plan Sanders doesn't account for the increase in cost.

TBH I'm not going to give an opinion on what I think is best as far as what system. But understand passing healthcare bills is not easy. And it's the reason Obama was so deceptive when passing it. He pushed it out before it could receive a massive wave of negative propaganda. But this is a constant theme I'm seeing with the far left. I'm constantly watching absolute garbage shows, like Secular Talk push pure propaganda (corporations are bad and Leftists are loved in every state) and seeing where this misinformation is coming from.

There's nothing wrong with going left. I'm not a person that thinks everything from a socialists mouth is lies and deception. But the Fox News Lite strategy from a lot of leftist commentators and news is extremely disappointing.

All I ask is you research these claims. The internet is heavily a younger audience so you're going to get a further left bias form a lot of their media. Of course you will get a more moderate bias from the mainstream.

But the tactics I'm seeing are much closer to Fox News then I'm comfortable with. Especially the conspiracy nonsense. Corporations aren't all bad. Simple reductionist arguments don't help anything. T

By all means support the leftist candidates. But please stop pushing this notion that they push the policies everyone wants by a landslide. It's false.

Trump and moderate and republicans think everyone loves their policies. Show me one politician who think the public doesn't love the policy he is pushing.

When it comes to healthcare, politicians have told the insurance companies Medicare for all isn't going to happen.

Well a significant part of the problem when it comes to politicians and health insurance is the fact that they, personally, have no concept of the cost to the average Joe.........I mean they got better insurance than we do while in office while only paying for about 1/4 of the premium (while the taxpayers get the rest of the bill)...and CONTINUE to get similar coverage (and deep discounts on premiums)......for life.
    gotta love 'referential' treatment

    Exactly.

As I hinted at in my point above: show me any “sound bite initiative” that isn’t masking a policy that is complicated, misleading, and well beyond the grasp of the vast majority of Americans.

Yes, M4A is misconstrued. I wish him luck in his efforts to unpack all policies as presented to the public.

Build a strawman, burn it down, provide zero solutions or how to get there. This movie has been on repeat lately.

A little bit yeah lol. I can't stand the misinformation I see from the far left. It's so blanket stupid.

Even being pro M4A is such a bland term. If you're talking about Yang's policy I'm down. But Bernie's is an economic disaster. Combined with his push of a Federal Min Wage of $15/hr leads me to believe he has 0 clue to what he's talking about. Or a "wealth tax".

But again. Push for whatever candidate you want. And I still like Bernie even though his supporters frustrate me. I just find the guy to be honest, which is important. And I don't think he's so thick headed that he wouldn't adjust his vision for the betterment of the country.

But there are so many similarities right now to the far left and the Trumps. Just a much lighter version. But there a lot of just straight propaganda out there. No substance whatsoever.

M4A is not really specific enough. And Bernie's policy is garbage.

When SSI was started there were problems that got ironed out as a time when on. Nothing man-made is perfect. M4A exists in other countries, and their citizens are happy enough with the program to continue it. So with our American exceptionalism, I am sure we can work it all once it is made into a national policy. The benefit out weight the fears or mistrust people have for it.

If you want to talk about bs policies, try the trickle-down economy idea that republicans and moderates have pushed which has never worked, unlike M4A which works in FOREIGN NATIONS.

M4a can work. Bernies doesnt. Politically or economically. The cost is higher.. When we already near 20% gdp in medical. And it will NEVER sell to the right. Having only supplemental insurance and no option will die.

And we can go into economic policies if you want.

But can I remind people that Obama wanted a MUCH more progressive bill in single payer system. But at this point the GOP was abusing the living hell out of the filibuster. And couldnt get enough support in the senate to avoid it (you need 60 votes).

And thats the other thing... A new reform will NEVER pass. No way. Even if the dems get the last 2 seats. I mean almost every president has tried to get a reform passed since fdr. And theyd always failed. And in this political climate? No way.

In 100 years people will realize that Obama wasnt the disappointing pseudo conservative hes painted as. Gay marriage. Osama. Iran? I mean he went against the israeli lobby and the oil lobby and won. He got 40 million people healthcare while the gop plan was gonna add 2 million. He wasnt without mistakes(libya). Dodd frank. Dont ask dont tell. Are these not progressive?

    Greatest president since FDR. EASILY.

During the first two years of his administration, I do believe the Dem. had control of both the house and senate. If they truly wanted it, they could have passed medicare for all but then the donors (health insurance industry) stepped in and slow that process down.

You comparing Obama to FDR? You don't know history, son, and why the donor class hated FDR. A group of wealthy businessmen plotted to overthrow FDR. Obama is wind sailing with billionaires after his presidency and enjoy support from the donor class.

Gay marriage something that had majority support from the base. Easy dive at the right time.
Killing Osama? I don't think that was driving leftist policy, try neo-liberal
The progressive M4A doesn't include private health insurance as middlemen, they are adamant about that.

You go on and on about progressive but you truly don't know what the progressive is all about, especially thinking the future will see Obama as a progressive like FDR.

I like the Republican president Eisenhower more than Obama

And Obama was one of the major Democrat leaders who help sink the only progressive candidate running and who believe in M4A.

Totally ignoring Obama attempts to corral the outspoken progressive members in Congress,

Quit bogarting that joint and past it to the left. You had enough.
