Itís crazy to think the President has done basically nothing about a problem that has killed a quarter million Americans in less than a year.

I canít imagine that being considered normal if any other President in history had flat out ignored that many deaths in that short a time.

i'm not sure what to think here- to travel next month I need to both take and get results from a test within 72 hours of flying and I'm concerned about getting results in time. Maybe I should just go to Walgreens.
so, nobody here knows about these tests?

well, unfortunately, Hawaii doesn't accept those tests....they weren't originally going to accept ANY rapid tests, but they're requiring tests within 72 hours of flights, and you can't guarantee you're getting results that quick with the PCR test, so they've relented to some of the rapid tests (ones where you get results in 24-48 hours, but not the ones you get in under an hour)

OK now this is just pissing me off. I believe I've said SD governor Noem's early hands off response was fine, allowing communities to make their own decisions. But she also should have stepped in long ago when places like Sioux Falls didn't handle things well and she has seemed to tie herself closer and closer with Trump as this has gone on, including just last week telling people they 'shouldn't disrespect people who choose not to wear a mask', which had me staring at the screen in disbelief.

Well, Sunday Noem's 98 yr old grandmother died. OK, she was 98, obviously you can buy natural causes. The problem? She was in a facility with 50 people that had zero positives until two weeks ago, and now has over 40 with 9 dead. But 'miraculously' Noem's grandmother tested negative.

I've only done rapid tests and the free drive thru tests provided by the city. Those are 3 day results, like 70 hours, so likely not realistic for Hawaii.

This is so insane. How is controlling a pandemic partisan...

ďOn Wednesday, Justice Barrett dealt the chief justice a body blow. She cast the decisive vote in a 5-to-4 ruling that rejected restrictions on religious services in New York imposed by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo to combat the coronavirus, shoving the chief justice into dissent with the courtís three remaining liberals. It was one of six opinions the court issued on Wednesday, spanning 33 pages and opening a window on a court in turmoil.Ē
