    All Decade team talk

    Wanted to separate out all decade team talk from NFCE specific players.

    Cam Heyward pissed about being left off;

    Sucks when you're categorized as DE because you're team has a 3-4 "base" defense but you spend most of your snaps as an interior lineman in nickel.

    Although the DTs who made it are a strong group, I could see Heyward replacing Suh. The other three? Nah.

    Somehow Luke Kuechly wasn't unanimous at LB. I'd love to meet the butthurt SEA/SF fan who refused to vote for him. Also pretty strange that Pat Willis got in when he only played 3 healthy years and like 40 games in the decade.

    Also Peppers probably doesn't belong and got in by name recognition. My homer self kinda thought Olsen and Ryan Kalil might stand a chance as backups.

    I do agree with most of what you said here. One of those tweets had a conversation, and a writer made a comment about how Cam is asked to do more as a 2-gap 3-4 DL than some of those other guys, and Cam responded with:

    Keuchly not being unanimous was silly. Gronk and Fitz not being it either kinda surprised me.

    I kinda wish they did 1st, 2nd, 3rd team with actual lineups like All-Pro is done.

    I think what's he's referencing is there are guys with worse stats than others at their position that made it.

    FWIW JJ Watt backed Cam up:

    But compared to him that isn't really the case, with the DE or DT group.

    Mind you, I think "stats" are weak argument anyway.

    I think the grouping particularly on defense need to be recategorized to better reflect their position groupings with different fronts and schemes. I think it's silly for instance to treat a 3-4 DE and 4-3 DT differently when in some schemes in essence they are asked to do the same thing.
