1998 Blue Jays vs 2006 Blue Jays

    1998 Blue Jays
    88-74
Manager: Tim "I served in Vietnam" Johnson

    C Darrin Fletcher
    1B Carlos Delgado
    2B Craig Grebeck
    SS Alex Gonzalez
    3B Tony Fernandez/Ed Sprague
    LF Shannon Stewart
    CF Jose Cruz Jr.
    RF Shawn Green
    DH Jose Canseco

Bats absolutely mashed for 221 homeruns, led by Canseco (46), Delgado (38) and Green (35)

    Rotation was mainly:

    Roger Clemens
    Pat Hentgen
    Woody Williams
    Chris Carpenter
    Juan Guzman

With Kelvim Escobar, Roy Halladay and even Dave Stieb getting a few starts. Clemens won the Cy Young.

    Paul Quantrill
    Escobar
    Bill Risley
    Randy Myers
    Dan Plesac
    Robert Person
    Erik Hansen

    VS

    2006 Blue Jays
    87-75
    Manager: John Gibbons

    C Bengie Molina/ Greg Zaun
    1B Lyle Overbay
    2B Aaron Hill
    SS Russ Adams/John MacDonald
    3B Troy Glaus
    LF Reed Johnson/Frank Catalanatto
    CF Vernon Wells
    RF Alex Rios
    DH Shea Hillebrand/Frank Catalanatto

Eric Hinske had a decent year off the bench. Team raked. Had 9 guys hit for double digits homeruns with Glaus (38) and Wells (32) leading the way.

    Rotation was mainly:

    Roy Halladay
    AJ Burnett
    Ted Lilly
    Gustavo Chacin
    Josh Towers

Burnett was hurt and Towers was a disaster, so we saw Casey Janssen and Shawn Marcum spending quite a bit of time in the rotation.

    Bullpen:

    Scott Downs
    Jason Frasor
    Justin Speier
    Brandon League
    Scott Schoeneweis
    Jeremy Accardo
    Brian Tallet
    BJ Ryan

And then a handful of guys like Pete Walker, Vinnie Chulk getting innings out of the pen. Ryan was a stud. The bullpen was pretty solid.

2006 for me mainly because of the BP and rotation even with Burnett being injured. Not so much that the 2006 rotation was good but more so the 1998 rotation was flaming garbage after Clemens. 1998 BP was atrocious too.

'98 for me. They had a great run near end of season. Team they had after removing dead weight on July 31st, was good team.

Lilly was sweet in any classic baseball video games.
