That assumes the NBAPA goes along with the league. This is all a negotiation right now.

This, the only issue would be if one person, be it player or staffer came down with COVID-19 then it probably ruins sports for every league for a long time.

Be it the NBA or not. Whatever sports league is the first to attempt games, MLS, MLB, NFL, NHL or whoever. Right when a player gets it, its Rudy Gobert situation all over but probably more intense.

Local sports radio was talking about it today and brought up that idea. One guy suggested testing when arriving and when the 14 days are over. Everyone including potential chefs, drivers, and support staff.

If enough players start missing pay checks theyíll agree really fast.

Why wouldn't Lebron want a chance at the title?

Lebron has publicly stated he does not want to play without fans.

He said it when he thought it might just be a (worst case scenario) option. Then **** hit the fan and he was more open to it rather than scrapping the season which was the next (worst case scenario) option.

As much as not finishing out at least a smaller tiered playoffs would suck, I donít think that these guys would want to do the lock down games. If one of those casinos cleaned everything real well maybe they could use it for the court, rooms and restaurants but that would still be a huge staff to maintain it. Are they going to quarantine enough maids and cooks (assuming itíll all be buffet meals, if not then also servers) to go along with the hundreds of players/coaches/NBA officials/a few announcers/network camera men and producers?

Remember, in this 2 week quarantine opening part, no one can come in contact with anyone. No gyms, no working out, not sure how doling out food would work.

Iím 99.9% sure that weíre not getting a finality to this season and if we do it might just be a quick 4 or 8 team best of 3 tournament and then youíll have other teams complain that are outside that bubble. Plus, who gets paid at what level?

As much as Iíd kill for basketball right now*, I just donít think that itís a viable idea.

*Watched Uncut Gems the other night and the few scenes of Celtics/Sixers playoff games were so great to watch. Thinking about tracking down old games that I have no idea who won.

Which could be putting pressure on them to allow fans, no? Was this a while back before we knew how bad things would get?

In fact a quick google search and I found this from almost a month ago saying he walked the statement back.

I just don't think it would make much sense at all for someone like Lebron to not want a chance at another title.

its a slippery slope no doubt but what choice is there? Even if they play the games without fans that doesnt help the economy because there wont be fans/jobs or venders etc and it would be in one single place... it will help the nba or nhl and tv ratings but that is all. Opening everything up means this virus explodes and hospitals go bye bye down the line.... keeping the economy shut down for a few more months is something that benefits us way more than it hurts us.

and limiting the spread of the virus stops our medical system from imploding.... if we only suffered from just 1 disease like covid it would be one thing but many patients with many diseases across this country that further puts stress on our health care... we can barely deal with 200k cases... if we open things up think about how things are right now but x the patients infected by 30 million or more.... there is no coming back from that. People arent understanding its not just about this disease but if we let this spread now over the next 18 months the damage that will happen to our health care systems will be insanity and then we will have purge like riots and so on down the list because of hoarding because of just how sick everyone is.

That isnt even the worst case by the way.... with 30 million infected lets think about if the virus mutates and or becomes antibiotic resistant because of the lack of information we have... now 18 months turns into 36 months.... its not possible to open things up anytime soon... the economy is the least of our worries when you have a country of 325 million people and as a country you rely so much on other countries for medicines/supplies and so on down the list.

Over population and american ignorance is a *****... as a country 20 percent of our population still refuses to take this seriously with restrictions on... opening things back up is health care suicide.
