yeah, but the patriots had a defense in the bottom half of the league, the eagles didnt beat a top defense because their offense beat them out.

and it goes to show, having a great offense cant even beat a team that DOESNT have a world beater defense, because the eagles definitely didnt have that that year, which is why top defenses have been consistantly beating elite offenses in the playoffs

Iím not sure what your considering world beater but Philly had the # 3 overall defense . A insane 3.8 yards a carry and a even more insane 24 Td and 19 interceptions .

An argument could be made that they were a Top 5 defense, certainly at home, but they didn't play like it in the Super Bowl. Also I think the 24 TD you mention are passing TDs allowed. For a defense to score 24 TDs in a season would be insane. The Eagles defense had 5 that year, 4 off of fumbles, and 1 Int return TD. The Jags defense had 7 TD.

Thatís one way to look at it. Weíre all going to find out starting in 8 days though! On paper the Cowboys look pretty good. They still have to prove it of course.

Offensively the Cowboys are loaded across the board except at TE. Jarwin has shown potential though and will finally be the unquestioned #1 TE. The TE position also usually thrives in McCarthyís version of the WCO.

On defense they have filled every position of need except for safety. They just cut a veteran so that suggests they like what they have in the young guys. There is also a rumor that they plan to sign E.Thomas after week 1. They lost McCoy but last years top draft pick Trystan Hill has been great in camp and actually won a starting job over Crawford and prized rookie Neville Gallimore.

On paper the cowboys looked pretty good last year too. That got them to 8-8 even with one of the easiest schedules in the league. This year they also look very good on paper with yet again one of the easiest schedules in the league. We will see
