At this point it's just a trial, too small a sample. They will probably do more testing and if they find it to be effective on larger samples they could fast track it.

There are many thing surfacing about how poorly we as a country are responding to this compared to the rest of the world

Our lack of faith in all of our elected officials and government is evident in the way we are handling this

We kinda suck. We are selfish, foolish and spoiled because we have been sold that we are number 1. We are not. We are part of the world community and this is a stark awakening as to how poor we are at accepting our own flaws as a nation
This is from decades of a government that has pitted us against them even when the “them” is literally your neighbor and friend.

Ya, my problem is I've eaten all the really good stuff like snack food and frozen pizzas first. Should just buy myself About 50 of them next time I go, if there are even any available lol. I haven't been in a week so not sure what to expect. I'm sure things like bread, pasta, Mac and cheese, are all gone.

I do find it encouraging they are planning for 18 months.
I do think if they get some things in place and have a cohesive plan, people will chill out and the markets will start to at least stabilize

Well, Russia does like to keep things quiet.

As of today, Russia has reported 52 new cases, bringing the total to 199. This marks a 35% jump in cases in the past 24 hours. The Russian government announced a "high alert" status for all 85 of its regions, requiring the whole country to take anti-coronavirus measures such as banning large gatherings, moving schools to online classes and encouraging working from home.

Just had a conference call w work. Saturday is my last day at work for a while. Starting next week Geek Squad will only be open for appliance install/repair and computer/networking jobs (the stuff that people consider essential). All other work is stopped. We still get paid for the next 2 weeks without having to use PTO as well.
All work is voluntary going forward. Everyone could choose not to work without being penalized. Anyone who does work gets a $5 per hour increase for the time being.

Figured it was a matter of time til we stopped.

They just had their first death. The **** is going to hit the fan for them unless they figure it out fast.

Everything is going to be okay. Our country will get through this. Don't be scared. Follow instructions from reliable sources like the government and doctors. Wash your hands frequently, use hand sanitizer whenever you can, and stay home unless you have to leave the house. If we keep the number of people who are out in the world to a minimum, the risk of spread is greatly decreased.
