Another reason is people are afraid to go to the hospital. So while their cause of death may not be covid, Covid is still a huge reason for their death.

    4) I don't see it as rushing. Other first world nations have opened up. Keeping out kids out of that environment is not helping. It's putting the kids further behind the rest of the world and increasing the human body's natural need to be social which in itself causes a whole slough of other issues (potentially worse than COVID)
The rest of the world didn't report 55K new cases yesterday.

I fully grasp the social significance of a school environment. We have a slightly different perspective.

We could debate nature vs nurture another time.

But kids are gross, hyper, little germ factories. (Buggers flying, coughing on each ofter, sneezing snot on one another while running around having a great time) When they are together, social distancing is more difficult base on sheer energy level and a lack of awareness. Especially in a school environment.
Again I am not so sure that it's so severe now that the kids have been thru this for four months.

Is having COVID the same as being a reason for death?

The rest of the World isn't testing like us. The death rate keeps dropping.

Really? As of July 8, 2020, the United States had performed the sixth most COVID-19 tests per one million population among the countries most severely impacted by the pandemic.

Huh? Humor me. I am old. My eye sight is failing, but I believe my comprehension remains intact. Please explain your response.

Or have you decided to employ the Posada debate strategy? When in doubt deny, deflect or when all else fails move the goal posts!

BREAKING: Supreme Court rules Pres. Donald Trump cannot block a subpoena for his financial records sought by a New York prosecutor, ruling he is not immune from criminal investigation.

Folks are exposed to stuff all the time. We are always making choices based on risk. The numbers indicate it's not a big risk for kids.

I don't see any bad language in his post.

He was right about Sanchez becoming a pull hitter so he can hit home runs to the short porch. Oh..wait...that's wrong as well. Sorry.

No. Covid and covid related is what I feel it should be.

Having chest pains at home and you don't go to the ER because you have heart disease and you are 64 years old, because you are terrified to contract covid but instead die at home, is covid related. Covid didn't directly cause it but it should be a contributing factor.

edit- If you have diabetes and contract covid, then covid exacerbates that condition and you die from kidney failure or a heart attack from the out of control diabetes, yes. Covid is the cause. Its presence caused the system to collapse.
