They'll be in a bubble. Not like the players will be going out and about.

But why is their first thought Florida ? That's just funny to me. Why not Hawaii or Alaska.

No idea. Florida wasn't as bad when they first came up with it.
I assume Disney has multiple regulation NBA courts all in one area.

NYC study of protests show no uptick of the virus as a result of in the NYC area as a result of protests. I believe the study. I live in the Bronx my daughter has participated in protests and so have my coworkers and neighbors. Key is mask wearing and gloves. Look at the studies that show that first responders and workers with high people contact who wear masks have lower rates of infection then the general public. And people down South were the numbers are rising don't get it. I heard in the radio a woman in Florida saying " I don't wear a mask for the same reason I don't wear panties, some things have to breath " and a man in Florida say he can't use a mask because wearing a mask would prevent him from using his weapon in self defense should something happen. O boy folks. Can't make this stuff up. Also during this thing my wife has taken the NYC Q44 bus Bronx to Queens, to commute to work 90 minutes each way and has not gotten sick. My daughter will start taking the subway to lower Manhattan for her new job as well. Masks, gloves, hand sanitizer.

Large protests not responsible for rise in Florida's COVID-19 cases, state health experts say
By Craig Patrick Published 1 day ago Updated 23 hours ago Coronavirus in Florida FOX 13 News

TAMPA, Fla. - Research indicates large protests are not responsible for the current COVID-19 spike in Florida, or in other states experiencing a surge in new cases.

In Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis has repeatedly dismissed the protests as a source for the stateís increase in community spread.......The stateís health experts are finding a pattern that leads not to outdoor protests, but to indoor establishments where young adults socialize and drink.

But Dr, you and your buddies on this forum will quickly point out people at the beach but ignore the protesters with regards to Covid. You wonít blast them for not wearing masks and protesting.

What is the difference from going to the beach and hanging out or gathering in large groups and protesting?

That is basically what I donít get with some of you on here. Iím not saying the slight Covid spike is all from protesters but you have to include those morons for not wearing masks if you include the morons at the beach for doing the same.

Very alarming. Goddamn DeSantis should have waited until June 1 for reopening. Thank good he just has a pause and not a full shutdown again. I have a vacation in a few weeks and it better not be ruined with stupi shutdowns that really donít do anything....less than 1% of the people in Florida have tested positive. That means 99% are fine.

Numerous reports claiming this is true, even if the white house denies it.

    If true:

    Trump is a traitor.

He should be tried for treason.

    He is a coward.

On the surface, this is most definitely worse than bengazi. We all know how much he wants Clinton in jail for that.

According to the Department of Health, there were 132,545 total cases of COVID-19 in Florida as of Saturday morning. The number of cases rose by about 9,585 from the previous day, setting a new single-day record.

    If you ask me

    Combination of

    NY over reporting

    FL under reporting

    Plus

There is also a lag with the death rates. 5-7 day incubation period plus then getting treatment for time in hospitals so could be a month or so before deaths raise that much.

    Plus
NY also had a lot of deaths because Cuomo said covid patients need to be accepted back into nursing homes(unless I realize it was a CDC guideline but he has been 1 of like 5 governers to implement it, and nys has a terrible problem with under staffing in nursing homes because there is no over sight or real minimum staffing requirements.

So many asymptomatic nursing home employees work at multiple facilities, bringing the virus from one facility to another.

    Many factors.

Mush, no one blamed the beaches. The beaches should be open. However, the issue is teens and young people ignoring social distancing at the beach.
The true issue is bars and clubs, IMO. Alcohol, young people, warm weather is a bad mix for social distancing and masks.

NY was the first to get hit. No one really knew how to treat it.
Also, to RC's point, the nursing homes were decimated because of Cuomo's miscalculation.

The catch Is with Florida, we won't know what the result will be because it's just started. 20k. tases in 3 days is nuts. My guess is they don't see their peak for at least a week and a half. Just a guess. I predicted 200k cases by august. It could be sooner. If it really happens fast and people overrun the healthcare system, they will see a serious tragedy.
