So you guys are upset that trump didn’t want to put another level of bureaucracy in regards to deciding where the money goes ? I thought you wanted everyone to get the aid as fast as possible , what good would creating more bureaucracy, do to that ? Its the latter but not for reasons Posada said. Its a mix of arrogance, stupidity, the demographic of the people in the park (mostly younger people) who have a tendency to think they are indestructible, etc. The nice weather and the cabin fever is giving people reason to want to get out of the house.

What if the people who are congregating together at the parks are coworkers, roommates, family members, neighbors who have already been in close contact with each for weeks. They know each other have shared close proximity with each other. So they figure and perhaps correctly they can't infect each other they already have or havent.

Through intimidation and information, sure. Chinese people are naturally more pre-cautious than Americans anyway. Its a different culture there as well. Americans are clung to materialism and buying **** which means we tend to be at more stores and among more people. Chinese people dont have the same amount of reasons to congregate together unless their living situation forces them to.

Do I believe the Chinese government entirely? No but I would bet their population has a better grip on this than Americans do.

In the Asian countries the people hang out at the Malls and Markets whether they have money or not. This is the same for Middle East countries. People hang out to socialize. Both of these cultures have huge religious gatherings daily. Both of these cultures live in fear and the common person will not tell you everything. The United States by far is more prepared and has way more than both of these cultures combined. They just utilize what they have better. We just complain about it.

Optimism is good
Being dishonest about it is not good. It creates a false narrative. If you were waiting for a ride from a friend and you had a choice, would you rather have the friend say, "I'm not sure when I will get there, but I will be there ASAP. I will get you out of there and you will be ok" and they get there in 2 hours
Or have them say "I will get you out of there and you will be ok. I will be there in 20 minutes". ( 20 minutes goes by). "Oh, I'm on my way right now. I'll be there in 15 minutes ". (and hour passes). I'm going to get there soon. 10 Minutes max". (40 Minutes goes by). They arrive.
It took them both 2 hours. They both were optimistic. Which friend would you trust?

Did you ever consider that because china is communist and because they can do what they wan with whatever funds and recourses they have, they can enforce lockdowns differently? build things faster? Control their population with less resistance?

I just did. Because of their system of government,. They do what they want. They can more aggressively enforce quarantines. They can appropriate whatever they want, when they want it. They can build hospitals in. days.
China's society is also very different from ours. They are less concerned with liberty and more with community.
