    600 a week x 13 weeks(3 months) say they're getting 150 unemployment plus the 600..that's 750 a week with average of 4.33 weeks per month that's 3650 a month over the next three months(1200 divided by 3 is 400 a month)

A salary of 30k per year is 2500 a month.

The issue is access to unemployment benefits. 22 million people out of work and how many of them are actually receiving the money they applied for? I know i haven't received unemployment benefits and i've been out of work since March 9th and applied for unemployment 2 days later.

I understand the USA is a different beast than many of those other countries but there is no reason why they should be compensating their citizens (out of work due to the virus) to a livable wage while Americans have to hope they get unemployment.

A month later, cases peaked, but over 100,000 people had already been tested. By late March, South Korea had tested three times that, and a social-distancing order banned large gatherings, further slowing the spread of the virus. Some experts say that by developing broad testing and contact-tracing measures before its number of cases spiked, South Korea was able to flatten the curve. The country is still reporting new cases, but compared to the over 900 daily cases during its peak, the outbreak is much more manageable. And social-distancing measures are still in place, further limiting the spread of the virus.

Let's look at Germany next. It had a test ready by mid-January. Four days later, Germany had its first confirmed case. It was able to start manufacturing tests by early February, allowing it to test about 120,000 people per week by early March, and it implemented several social-distancing measures later that month, closing schools, borders, and banning gatherings of more than two people. By late March, Germany was testing over 300,000 people per week.

As of April 8, Germany had tested more people than any other European country. This is due in part to its early testing and its use of contact tracing, which allowed testing to identify even the mildest cases of COVID-19. But case numbers have been high. As of April 10, Germany had the fifth-highest number of COVID-19 cases, but it has one of the lowest fatality rates in the world. Some experts think that Germany's expansive testing has kept the fatality rate so low. But not every country was able to start testing early.
But according to the president the USA has handled the virus "beautifully". Moron.

And it may not seem essential but nobody would get hurt by staying in your vehicle and running thru the process in 3-4 min. All you had to do was block the vacuuming service area.

Plus, those bastards got me for $25 this month. Are they going to extend it or is it going to be too hard to figure out everybodyís memberships?
Mush, you know what would be a really nice gesture? Only go to the car wash 2 times a week and donate the amount of water you would use the other 2 times to an African village that needs it for drinking.
I'm guessing you'd be sending a thousand gallons or so a month.

Well we couldn't have handled it any better. We had all the tests ready. Have ample supplies of PPEs and all the ventilators...
    Oh, ****. Wait.
**** it. It's China's fault we handled it so poorly.
Blame China. Yeah. That's what we can do. Point the finger elsewhere to distract from our ineffectiveness. Maybe people will buy it?

Really good read. It's an opinion article to be clear. His points are interesting to say the least.

But this logic ó that ordinary people need security in the face of social and economic volatility ó is as true in normal times as it is under crisis. If something like a social democratic state is feasible under these conditions, then it is absolutely possible when growth is high and unemployment is low. And in the wake of two political campaigns ó Bernie Sandersís and Elizabeth Warrenís ó that pushed progressive ideas into the mainstream of American politics, voters might begin to see this essential truth.

ďThe moment we go back to work, we cannot create an incentive for people to say, ĎI donít need to go back to work because I can do better someplace else,íĒ Senator Rick Scott of Florida explained on the Senate floor. In other words, we cannot help people so much that they can effectively bargain for better wages; crisis or not, we must discipline the working class.

ďIn general, the system is not working well,Ē said John Arensmeyer, chief executive officer of advocacy organization Small Business Majority, in an interview with MarketWatch. ďEven businesses that have heard their loans have been approved havenít seen any money yet.
This is some of the same problems you're seeing with unemployment benefits.

NOW, China is adding 50% more to their totals from Wuhan.

    What a joke.

So where are the protests in NewYork or California?

    Why just Whitmer?

Calling protesters irresponsible is a joke.

You canít buy seeds for gardens but you can still buy your pot?

Come on, she is political with this and she needed to be called out...her measures were too stringent.

This wasnít a Trump rally directed towards her. That was her trying to deflect blame...

Save it Whitmer, you are a disgrace!

I give props to Gov Cuomo and Gov Newsom, they have been terrific during this crisis.

Max Rose,D, NEW YORK, as called out Pelosi with the things getting money like the Kennedy Center and New Green Deal crap. He said it is NOT THE TIME for that.

THE LIBERAL AGENDA can continue after and I have no issue with that but Pelosi is just succumbing to the SQUAD and it is so obvious.

Mush, China did a bad job.
Trump has done a worse job.

Let's put it this way. Covid was a pop quiz for the world. China got the quiz first and didn't do well.
Trump saw they were given the quiz. He new we would get it. He still didn't prepare.
    That is far, far worse.
You know it's coming and you didn't get ready is way more egregious than, being completely caught off guard and flunking.

Nah it's more important to bail out hedge funds and big businesses.

    You dont get it Mush.

American people need a bridge until there is some plan to incrementally get workers back in the work force.

The socialism/Marxism crap doesn't fly in front of a worldwide pandemic which has cost 22 million jobs in this country alone and will cost more.

So what is your plan for money to everybody eligible?

You complain but you donít give us a dollar amount.

Trump could have went 5000 and you would have said it is not enough.

    Again, give us your plan.
