Your boy should have been on this since at least mid January but just like with healthcare and the national debt, if the republicans are in charge it gets put on the back burner to corporate interests.

Seriously. Trump had 2 months to get “a very clear plan” and he kept golfing and having rallies. He shut down some travel from China after some infected had already made their way to Europe and here (among other places). So go after him.

And of course there’s a downside to shutting down the economy but this is killing people in droves and we still don’t know enough about it to just open things back up because, even though he’s working from home, Stylez wants to go to the goddamned dry cleaners.

Today the Surgeon General said that everyone wearing masks does a reasonable job at protecting the transmission. So if we open up and force everyone to wear masks for a few months.... that is a reasonable effort to try and save lives. Will it be 100% effective, maybe not...... but i dont know if there is an alternate realistic plan that is 100% effective either. And that plan would attempt to address both issues simultaneously and an expert said it would help significantly more than not wearing masks like we were in january and feb. (and how many people were needing ventilators then?)
You just compared dead people with people who are going to struggle. The other guys are right, you are a lost cause.

There are a lot of reasonable steps that could be taken that should help the situation without costing so many people so much. Also doing stuff like that is more sustainable. We have never even tried that though.... immediate course of action was just to throw everything down the drain before we even saw exactly what we were up against.

Wide scale testing should have been done to find the actual mortality rate before even considering taking 25 million jobs from people. And if wide scale testing for antibodies and current cases showed that the mortality rate was about .3% for people without pre existing conditions- then the decision to shut down would be rooted in science.

But shutting everything down before you know the extent of the problem seems more like panic than a decision firmly rooted in science. Also once you shut down its a lot harder to open back up- so that really should be the absolute last resort.... not the very first sincere attempt to take control of this
You said why should people believe in shutting down for 30 days when it hasnt worked. That implies you are not aware of how much worse it would have been had these actions not been taken. But we know it would have been, there is scientific certainty. So why would these people be acting like some promise wasnt kept?

Utah never shut down and their numbers per capita are far better than NY which has shut down.

ALso CA for example.... has said to have flattened the curve and been doing a good job. To put it into perspective. We have double the population of NY and CA has 37,000 cases vs NYs 262,0000. We have 1400 deaths VS NY at over 20,000. Those numbers look good. And Nationally CA has been recognized at doing a good job limiting the cases considering we have 40 million residents.

Yet 4 weeks into the lock down where you think the government would be moving towards letting some of the restrictions loosen a little bit- the last few days they have started to mandate that all people wear masks when out in public or get fined. So if masks werent necessary a month ago.....and we have been doing a good job. Why are masks so important right now? Making the rules more strict right now would suggest that the lock down is not working.

LOL comparing a depression to people struggling is a bit of an understatement. btw 26+ million unemployed over a few weeks will very likely lead to deaths. So yeah- could be more than struggling

So they’re having strict laws and it’s working and you want to loosen those laws so it can explode again? The lockdown IS working they’re just seeing that with extra precautions it can work BETTER. Seriously, what the **** is wrong with you? How much more simple can this get?

Oh look, more sidestepping. Why argue when you just ignore what you don’t want to answer and what doesn’t fit your narrative? You’re terrible at this. And my guy wants to open things back up because money is the only thing that matters to these dickheads.

Our lieutenant governor was saying weeks ago that the old are ok with sacrificing themselves for the good of the economy. AKA: The All Lives Matter people want to sacrifice lives so the richest country in the history of the world doesn’t lose that much more money. Then again, you’d have to be a special kind of idiot to ever believe that was anything other than sucking that racist and religious ****.

    A) This is not surprising that you two are agreeing with each other.

Oh, he believes it works, he just thinks that we’re out of the woods when we’re clearly not.

    very hard actually,
do ur own grunt work. you've been relying on others for so long you've lost the ability to research wtf is actually going on. you live in the era of censorship, time to start digging. or just wait, sometimes the MSM can tell u a smidgen of info.

download the docs while you can, test your mettle.
